I'm so disappointed that I didn't see every movie this year. I'm actually disgusted with myself - I should have at least seen "Ray", ya know? I really wanted to see "Sideways" before tonight too. The only one I saw was "Million Dollar Baby" and of course, I want that one to win all it was nominated for.
What are your predictions? I think it would be cool if Jamie Foxx won both of awards he's nominated for but I didn't that "Collateral" movie either. It sounds like all the buzz is about him - that's for sure.

Yep, I'm with ya Vex. LOVED MDB. I thought it was better than Mystic River (which I really liked but didn't get the whole deal with Kevin Bacon's wife). I haven't seen the other ones though so I have nothing to compare it to. I failed my mission this year.
Now for the dresses - my favorite! I thought Hilary Swank, Beyonce (in the black Versace), Halle Berry, Salma Hayek, Annette Bening, Virginia Madsen, Kate Winslet, and Oprah were on fire hot. However, Gwyneth Paltrow (I don't get the all over pale thing and the smushed boob thing), Renee (did you see her walk to the podium? LOL - looked like it hurt), Cate (that shade of yellow and that shade of skin don't go), Drew (Drew-ella Deville?), Natalie (woulda looked better filled out), Scarlett (the contrast hurt my eyes), Laura (again with the pale on pale thing), Gisele (copycat), and Melanie Griffith (too much botox - need a cane?) could have done way better. I'm on the fence about Charlize.
I really want to know what kind and color of lipstick Hilary Swank was wearing. I thought it was awesome!

Pianoguy was only confused about best picture.
Hmm...I liked the Spanish one (mostly for Santana's guitar work, though) and the one with Josh Groban performing was decent, I thought. The first 3 were definitely not so good--I fast forwarded after just a few bars of each (thank goodness for TIVO!). Is that guy from Counting Crows channeling Sideshow Bob from the Simpsons, do you think????
My favorite musical highlight, though, was Yo-yo Ma on cello. That was gorgeous...I just wish the audience could have held their applause until the end...it kind of ruined the effect.

This is why Yo-Yo-Ma is so spectacular whenever you hear a recording (or see a live performance).
That's true...I was lucky enough to sit about six rows from the center of the stage when he was here a couple years ago on his Silk Road tour. It was just mesmerizing and a total thrill to be so close to him and his cello--I'll never forget that experience.
With respect to Adam what's his name, I actually was talking about his HAIR, but too funny!!!
