Happy Friday!

Does anyone have any pointers or tips for making a first phone call to someone you've been corresponding with online? Such as what to say, how long to talk... little "rules" like that? Just curious if there's "proper ettiquete" (not sure if I spelled that right :P) Thanks in advance! :)

How about "Hey, it's Pink Daisy from Match.com".... how are you??? ;-) then let the conversation just flow....

How many pounds of peanuts are consumed in the United States each year?

2.4 billion pounds! About 50% is consumed as peanut butter.

Like peanut, I don't think there have to be "rules" or conversation topics. The only rule I try to follow is that I try to keep the first conversations relatively brief. Like under 30 minutes. I really am not a big phone person and I'm a "multi-tasker" - always doing at least two things at one. But if I'm sitting there chatting on the phone, I feel rude multi-tasking and like to put my attention into the person but in turn, that bugs me! ;-) But in addition to that, long phone conversations are the worst for leading to that sense of connection before you even meet. Rather than talk so much and get connected to a person that you've never met and don't know if you have in person chemistry with, I prefer to get a phone call out of the way and then try to meet.

But yeah, just call him up and say hello! But keep it short!

Thanks for your advice. :)

I called and it rang a few times, then it cut out. So I didn't leave a message since there wasn't a chance. He said he'd be in the wilderness for a couple of days so the reception could be bad.

I'm debating on whether to call back or not. I'm thinking my number showed up on his phone, (although I didn't give him my digits so he wouldn't know if it was really me or not.)

Who knows!?
