Positive Influences
I heard about Dennis Richardson and Charlie Sheen, apparently she filed for divorce yesterday and she’s 6 months pregnant. A source says Jen and Brad are also filing. A close friend said to me, you shouldn’t read this stuff anymore, it will only enhance any fears you have of marriage or long term commitments if you read this and I thought, gee, he’s right. It’s a sad reality that the negative break up stuff sells and the happy relationships you don’t hear about that often. I’m sure subconsciously it can’t be good for anyone.
I thought I’d dedicate this post to those that are in successful relationships, have parents or friends and share your positive stories about long term relationships.
I’m in a relationship as well and things are going really great (very happy) but when you keep hearing this stuff (divorces, whether in Hollywood or not) it does get you down.
Cheers,

I agree it can make you wonder, how often do you hear the good things not often is right. you here of the problems. Jessica and NIck having problems all the time too.. But it did bother me to see Jen and Brad split because that was one couple that I thougth would make it . But bottom line it is hard to be in a r'ship period. regarldess if you are in hollywood or not. WE are all human w/ lives and feelings and perceptions. Hollywood just makes it more difficult especially if you are always traveling. I have read stories on how some hollywood couples have made it and they say it takes effort and making time for each other spendng quality time together.and I think it takes two great strong people that can communicate well. When you are not together often, it makes it hard and also ontop of that if you have a disagreeent or something.
I just think in general r'ships are hard. YOu need two people willing to try and build something together. It takes two they always say.
But even in real life I hear of soo many problems and divorce. Where are the stories of the everlasting couples and why they worked out . Lately too alot of female actresses are publicly announcing that they are still single and cannot find a good man (Terry Hatcher is one, 20/20 interview)
It does make you not so optimistic at times but you can only keep trying.
Also I thought Charlie and his wife were soo happy. I just read an article. I did not realized he cheated. But he was always that way huh?
life goes on... just be happy w/ yourself
and SP I am so happy for ya!!
Tell me Nick and Jessica are fine? I think they will be together forever. M always gives me a hard time saying he heard they were on the rocks. I feel they are really truly in love and I’m hoping it will last.
Terry Hatcher dated my ex boss in the infomercial business, she wasn’t even completely divorced yet. I met her, she’s funny and nice (very skinny!). My boss was a total player though, she doesn’t have good taste in men (picks the bad boys!). However I do wish her the best and hopefully now that she’s famous again she won’t continue her pattern.

I'll take that bet. Have you seen the way he looks at her when she's being stupid? I've seen looks of disgust and contempt on his face SO many times.
Plus, they have such different values when it comes to money. I think he's still just a middle class boy at heart, and she's so over the top with spending. Money is HUGE issue in marriage - not just the lack of it, but the overall attitude towards it.
I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see them lasting 10 years.
Look of disgust? No way. More like, sweetie, I can’t believe you just said that and he roles his eyes (I doubt he means anything by it) but maybe I’m rooting for them too much.
I understand the money thing but if they have more than God, I don’t think it matters. They get 100K an episode for their show alone. She has her own make up line (or skin cream), she sings and has other business ventures. Most of the money is because she made it. I can understand if you’re a normal couple but the fast track their on, the money will be their a while and I’m sure her dad much be influencing her to save as well but maybe I’m wrong?
>>Tell me Nick and Jessica are fine? I think they will be together forever.<<
No way. No self-respecting man of his level of intelligence could put up with a woman THAT stupid for an extended period, no matter how hot (read: surgically enhanced) she might be.
I give Nick and Jessica about... 3 years, tops. He'll bail.
I agree with ya even if I don't want to. I like her but I can't watch her sing - way to dramatic - like she's Aretha or something and Aretha doesn't even move that much! I watched their show a couple times and I was impressed with him. Seemed like a guy with a good head on his shoulders, likes to do his own yard work kinda guy, plus he's from the midwest.
I wonder how much her family drives him insane. Her sister is a complete joke. Her dad's got his nose in their business constantly. Gotta be hard.

probably not true:
Staying with celebs currently in marriage-rumour hell, Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey (that simple couple of MTV’s ‘Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica’ fame) are having to put out some fires. That’s because Jessica is said to have got it on with her ‘Dukes of Hazzard’ co-star Johnny Knoxville – also an MTV regular, on ‘Jackass’.
Johnny is apparently incensed by the rumours. Perhaps because of the way they reflect on his taste in women? I’m going to take a wild guess and say that Nick needn’t lose any sleep over this one. Although, come to think of it, while Johnny-and-Jessica might be an incredibly strange pairing – it really isn’t any more unbelievable than the fact that the seemingly crazy Knoxville is still alive after all the half-brained stuff he’s done.
and he's nasty......gag

Sp I always thought in the beginning they seemed like they would make it. But lately, now again it can be just for the media or for the public, but on the shows they don't seem to see eye to eye, he is not that nice to her and i read a lot of articles where they are fighting all time , but again, this could all be publicity and they could be good actors on their show. But I agree that they don't have the same views on money. He came from a non-material , no money family and she is quite the opposite. And someone just told me one of the biggest factors why people divorce is not sex, its finances.
So don't know....
