problem with Match

I'm not sure if I can raise this problem here, and I'm sorry if it had been brought up earlier.
Am wondering if anyone is having problems with Match.com?
I've been a member since early this year, but never subscribed. I could reply to subscribers once they've written to me. But, about 2 months ago, they changed the system. Everyone must be a subscriber, even to reply! Since then, I've been stuck! can't reply to anyone unless they have the 'contact me for free' package.

The thing I'm most unhappy about is the fact that the information given in the HELP section states it's FREE for members to reply, but that is not true. Members are still writing to me thinking I can easily reply, which I can't! I have written to Match stating they shouldn't deceive members like this, but there was no reply.

I am reluctant to subscribe because I feel the new system is simply not right.

Well they are a business, they want to make money. They aren't going to just hook you up with their system out of the kindness of their heart. They probably did it before but then the system was abused and now they think everyone should pay and I believe you should pay if you want to use their system to meet people.

You wouldn't go into Walmart and not pay for something there so why should the dating website be any different.

Use another service, mydate.com allows you to reply to people if they email you first.

I joined match recently to send an email to a winker and gave him a personal addie in the email. Problem solved.

Or, try to imbed your addie in your profile.

I was finally 'forced' to subscribe as one guy who sounded really sincere emailed me 4 times, but his personal address was erased and replaced with the Match address. Yup, Match automatically scans personal addresses and replaces them. Very, very few members are smart enough to know the new system and disguise their address, or give their handphone numbers. The info in the HELP section still states it's FREE to reply, how deceptive! This guy whom I finally replied to told me 'no wonder it's so hard to get any responses'- he's not aware of the system until I told him.

I'm only gonna subscribe for 1 month. Money is not the issue here, but since I had so little luck when it was free, and met quite many men already but couldn't work things out, I'm simply too reluctant to make an effort only to be disappointed later. Oh and btw, looks like this guy I subscribed to reply to isn't my type anyway. Sigh...
