Question about Profile Pictures
| Sat, 03-11-2006 - 11:05am |
I've been trying to figure-out what pictures to post on my profile; it's not searchable yet. This is more of a general question. We all know how lighting can make such a dramatic difference. So I'm wondering if photos taken in bright and semi-bright sunlight, flashes, in-home lighting, etc., are more accurate, in anyone's experience. Perhaps I'm making too much of this, but I just want to present myself truthfully. How flattering should I try to make them? I've seen models who didn't look like themselves in real life, if you know what I mean. I don't like it when I meet someone in life that I wouldn't have even recognized from their pictures. I feel like I've been deceived and I don't want to waste someone's time that way, or mine. Thanks.

I believe the pictures should be relatively recent and really look like the person. I went on a date Friday night with a guy I met on match. I thought he was really cute based on his pictures. Well, he didn't look like his pciture at all. Luckily, I was going in with reservations already based on his personality through acouple of chat we had. He called to go out again, but I politely ended it. I knew there was no potential there. of course, that doesn't mean you have to post the absolutely worst, I just rolled out of bed photos either.

From what I have read about successful pictures is that they should shw you in a natural environment. you should have a close up face and a full body shot. I hope this helps

The most important thing is that they truly represent what you currently look like. If you aren't sure ask a friend. Beyond that go for a variety of pics in different settings.
