A question about Yahoo personals

I was curious...about the 7 day free trial they offer. They ask for your credit card information at sign up, but what if you don't like the service after a couple days? Do you get billed for the entire month? or can you just cancel within that period and avoid charges? If someone has experience with their service, I'd appreciate it!

I couldn't get that question answered in the FAQ section.

I recall Match offering a 3 day trial which could be cancelled (if you did it within that 72 hour window) without being billed.

Yes. You can cancel within the first 7 days with no charge on your cc. They are just taking you cc number so if you don't cancel, they can automatically bill you starting on day 8.

Yes, I can confirm that also, as I just did the free trial recently. I put a reminder on my calendar to cancel on day 6 and did so with no problem, and was not charged anything.

Thank you, thank you everyone. I just needed to check on that. You just don't know what some companies will do with your credit card info once they have it!

A completely different question about Yahoo and Match:

If I have not created a profile, only a user name, and have saved other people's profiles as I was browsing can these people see that I have viewed or saved them and the frequency?

Thanks.

I tried their 7-day trial period and noted it on my calender to canceled. Since I had given my CC, I didn't email, I called directly. Good thing, cause they gave me an extension of 30 days free.

Personally I would call them directly, and they will ask you why. I told them 7 days was not enough time to really check out the service. They extended 30-days! (smile) After that I called and canceled.

Thankfully, Yahoo doesn't have that feature (I can't stand the "who's viewed you" thingie), so no, there's nothing that would show you as having viewed or saved someone else's profile. I don't use Match anymore for that reason, among others, so can't comment on that.

Thanks Sheri.... just curious, why don't you like the who's viewed you feature?

That's information I just don't need or want, or want other people to have--too big brother-ish for me! Also, it could lead to paranoia--why does this guy keep viewing me--and/or feeling rejected--this guy viewed me but didn't write--why???

I don't need or want to know that, and I don't want people to have that information about me.

Sheri,

There are a ton of people you "view" that are nice guys but maybe you're not a match after reading their profile. Such as he has 3 kids, seperated (not divorced), lives to far away, seem to have nothing in common...list goes on so I don't take it as rejection of "who's viewed and not written" but I hear you when I want to view someone I'm dating, I feel they think I'm checking up but I'm not, maybe we've gone out once or twice and I want a refresher of their interests etc.
