Hey everyone,
I have recently ended a relationship of nine months and am having a hard time meeting people the "regular" way. It's like college boys only want sex... But anyway, I was talking to some friends who signed up for some online services and was wondering what other people thought of them. I am a little leery about it, since there seems to be some risk of psycho stalkers and stuff, but I feel like I am missing out by not doing it at all.
Anyway I spoke to one of my friends, and this is what she told me:
OkCupid isn't that great because since it's a free service, you have to spend a lot of time "separating the wheat from the chaff."
Match.com is the best in her opinion because since it's a service you pay for, it eliminates a lot of the weirdos, and she got the most dates out of it.
Eharmony -- she said she's heard good things but she has not gotten any dates out of it.
Perfectmatch.com is okay but there aren't that many people on it.
So I was wondering about other people's opinions about this subject. Any responses will be greatly appreciated. :)

Hi and welcome to the board and online dating!
As far as sites, a lot depends on your area, your age and what you are looking for.
I tried OKCupid with no successful results. Mostly because there were alot of men stretching the truth or just flat out lieing. Especially with pictures. An online buddy told me to try webdate.com, mostly because it has live video chatrooms. If you have a webcam, I suggest you give it a try, it beats going through profiles and old pictures. However, the most important rule in online dating is to always always be safe and never give out too much information too soon. Good luck in whatever you use as long as you find who you are looking for :)
