Quirky Behavior

I met someone online and we have great telephone conversations but at the end of the conversation, if he ends the convo first, I will say "good-bye" and hang up.
If I end the conversation first, he just hangs up without saying "good-bye!".
No big deal but quirky. Anybody else experience this??

I don't think it's quirky behavior so much as poor telephone manners. Maybe he was never taught proper phone etiquette.
My mom does the same thing, and it annoys me to no end. (But at least she has the excuse of old age and starting to "lose it".)
This is apparently a fault of mine, according to some people.
I dislike talking on the phone. I like to get to the point of the call right away, have a wee bit of discussion, then go. If I hear *goodbye noises* I tend to say bye and then hang up. One person accused me of hanging up on her. Others say I am very abrupt.

My personal style is in-between. I like to be clear, but polite: "Okay, see you tomorrow. Bye." "Bye." Both hang up.
However, in English novels one always reads things like this:
"I'll be there at ten," he said, and rang off.
I'm a total anglophile, but this always sounds so rude! :)
