IMO: The following links provide an excellent guide.

http://www.heartlessbitches.com/rants/manipulator/redflaglist.shtml

http://www.womensaccounts.com/dating_a_loser.html

After reading through them do you still find yourself making excuses for the person you are dating? That is another RED FLAG!

>I really appreciated how the second article wasn't only about men

I'm glad people appreciate them. These articles acknowledge that ANYONE can be a victim. I have been in an emotionally abusive relationship and as a man it is a very difficult thing to admit. Many men are or have been victims of emotional/physical abuse and are probably ashamed to admit it.

I didn't include the following link but it was one of the first ones I found when in my dilemma. The woman I was dating had EVERY trait mentioned with the exception of abusing drugs.

I agree with everyone in saying that these articles are 100% accurate and should be taken very seriously. It's impossible to explain why you can't see these things until they are pointed out in black & white.

One or two is not the problem. It's when you go down the list and check them off going, "yup, yup, yup, yup". Of course everyone has done a few of these from time to time but it's when you're talking multiples (which even from reading your brief description of this guy it sounds like he has quite a few) that it's bad news. Even then, it's not saying that you have to dump the person but that you should definitely be on your guard and if it does turn out badly, you can't say you weren't warned!

I am not sure anybody is totally healthy, I guess! LOL. I hope to find someone who is...but maybe I should be healthy as well! ;) I need time to figure things out. Sending good dating vibes to you, Hal...

Sara :)
