Remember that one of the benefits of a community like this is the wide variety of experiences and knowledge that members bring to the board. Consider your words carefully before you post - please direct your comments to the topic of the discussion, rather than to personal judgments/comments about individuals who are in the discussion. The Rules of Play (http://www.ivillage.com/boards/0,,b46m,00.html) ask that "If you disagree with a member's post or opinion during a live chat, by all means, challenge the opinion. However, any challenge must be given with a sense of respect and caring for the other person. The real objective of community is to understand each other, not to attack others and convince them that you're right. Name calling, insults, "flaming" and attacks are not appropriate and will not be tolerated. Agree to disagree respectfully."
Just because another member makes choices that are different than your own is not an attack nor is it a reason to make an attack. We all must make our own choices in our lives and just because you offer your advice to a member does not mean that they will take it. Please do be very careful when you are voicing your opinion and feelings that you do not attack those who have made different choices.
If you see posts that you feel are disruptive, please ignore the member and report those posts to iVillage for review. We will make every effort to keep the boards clean of problems, and appreciate our members who take the time to alert us to potential situations. Also remember that attacks, even in self-defense or defense of another member are still attacks and are prohibited by TOS (http://www.ivillage.com/about/0,,qr4p,00.html).
