I’m thinking of having my e-mail address and vital statistics printed on a T-shirt. I’ll wear it whenever I go grocery shopping.

You see! This is why I don't like OLD. The real world is better--At least I get a reaction, even if it is small or polite. I was walking home with my shopping today and there was a woman in front of me who had also just been shopping. She was carrying quite a few bags and had stopped to give her hands a rest. As I passed I said, "It's hard work isn't it?", She laughed and said, "Yes, I think my arms are getting longer". She didn't check to see how tall or old I was, or how much money I made before deciding to reply. I regret not offering to carry some of her bags because she was going my way, but I stopped to chat with an acquaintance.

Simple pleasantries....now possibly if you would have asked her for her name and number....she might have dropped the bags and took off running! LOL....cracking up!!

All this to say, that I may make conversation in passing, but if you stop me for anything more, then I'm going to check you out and see if there is an interest.

Possibly all you wanted to do was chat, nothing about her made you ask for her name and number.

OLD is tough. I like the real world better in a lot of ways. You don't quite feel the way people are sizing you up as much. Keep the faith though, Hal. :)

This is exactly my point. At least you would make conversation even in passing. That could lead to friendship and perhaps more.

I wouldn't ordinarily do that, I am a coward when it comes to asking women for their number. She must live near me so there is a chance I will see her again.

I agree. Each day that you don't get an e-mail or icebreaker feels like another day of rejection. It's passive rejection and I'm paying for the privilege. It's free in the real world.

Practice, practice, practice. Women do like aggressive men -- at least a man who is comfortable in going after what he wants!

If that were true my mailbox would be inundated with messages from women! ;-)

Although you are a woman I disagree with you. The women I know (family & friends) only like it if they are attracted to the man. Otherwise they think he is desperate and only wants sex.

>LOVED THAT MOVIE TOO!

My instructor was Mr Langley, and he taught me to sing a song. If you'd like to hear it, I can sing it for you.

It's called...Sally.

Sally, Sally, give me your answer do. I'm half crazy, all for the love of you. It won't be a stylish marriage, I can't afford a carriage, but you'll look sweet upon the seat of a bicycle built for two...
