Scary, Scary Meet Up
Find a Conversation

I met a man for the first (and obviously last) time tonight in a very public place. It was the most awful first meet I have ever had. Actually it was truly bizarre and not of this world. Have any of you had any unbelievable first meetings?
In the course of 90 minutes he basically:
1/ overanalyzed why I wasn't snatched up yet
2/ pressed me repeatedly to tell him how I felt about him
3 /told me that he was really excited to meet me and that he was
falling in LOVE with me.....
4/ told me inconsistent stories about what he did today (he was out of
state, he was painting nude women in his apartment, he went to work)
5/ told me his cat was in heat and laid on the floor all day like she
wanted sex
6/ told me he wanted to have his way with me on the floor
7/ never once asked me any questions about me
8/ kept saying "didn't I tell you this before"....I kept telling him
that we never actually had a conversation before.
9/ told me that he spent the first 15 years of his life in the
basement of a mental institution because his father was the
psychiatrist there.
10/ basically told me in many ways how screwed up he was (like I
couldn't figure this out myself)
11/ told me that the fact that I said I didn't think we had any
chemistry meant nothing to him because the girl that he was with for 6
years told him that on the first date and also told him never to call
her again. This is scary stuff! It basically meant to me that no
matter what I said he wasn't going to believe me and thought we had a
chance.....
AND the strangest of all.....
told met that his father is a famous Australian psychiatrist and that
he was involved in the *dingo* case.

If you keep doing what you're doing, you'll keep getting what you're getting... -- Les Brown
Wow.
I think he's the ninth man I've met and yes, all the others were very nice......
I should have spent more time with him on the phone, but to be honest, I did have some red flags before I met him, but I passed it off as being cultural differences and a wacky sense of humor. Also, he is a brainiac and sometimes the people I've met who are super, super intelligent have some social issues. His occupation is very impressive, although that is not why I wanted to meet him.
I guess I just figured I'd give him a chance since he was truly pursuing me and that doesn't happen often. I, also, thought that meeting in a public place would be safe.
In reality, I truly think he's probably harmless, but wacky.
I pray he doesn't call me again. He only has my cell phone number, thankfully.
Hi Kersty,
Run. Forrest, Run!!!! OMG, I think this classifies as the Wacko of the Month, I do Not care if the month Just began. My ex loco boyfriend mentioned counseling and 'taking something'--16 agonizing months later, I came to find that he had been on anything and Everything under the pharmaceutical sun!
Moral of this story, Cinderfella, is to LISTEN to what people tell you on first dates; if they say "my ex said I was a controlling mutt butt"--he STILL is!!!!
Glad you got through this one, the only was from here is Def UP!
Truly,
Cupcake
Okaaaaay, you are now our new poster child for Horrific Dating Stories!!
I almost fell off my chair laughing. Can one person possibly have so much wrong with him?? Answer -- yes!!!
Too funny.
Well, kerstynclare, as they say -- things can only get better, eh?

You know what ..... he was almost like what I would expect the son of Freud to be like....very, very odd....I've been thinking about it this morning.
Pondered everything in great detail.
Didn't want to discuss any normal things that people discuss when they want to get to know you.
Got annoyed when I asked him where he went to school. He said, "Why didn't you just ask me where I went to university?"...
I felt like I was in the twilight zone.
I, also, have a feeling that he is still married, now that I think about all the signs. This man was a lunatic!
That's very true!
But, I suppose, I still could walk out at any time
This is funny. I just remembered it. He was telling me about a date he had. They were at a Thai restaurant and he was arguing with the waiter and manager about how the dish should have been cooked. When he finally turned around his date had left.
I would guess that she left for more reasons than what was happening at the moment.....ugh.
