Signed up AGAIN!

So I was going to wait until after the holidays to do match and yahoo again but something came over me (!) and I signed up this morning for three months on match. NEVER done that before. Usually it's only for a month. I guess I wanted the option of hiding my profile for awhile without running out of time on my subscription. Plus, it's only $20 more a month for three times as long.

I took some new pics and changed the title of the book I'm currently reading and that's it. Everything else is still the same. I am thinking of changing my header line though.

I would like to hear from people who have been doing this a long time - more than a year or two. How do you keep your attitude fresh and positive about OLD? I've been doing this for 5 or so years off and on depending on relationship status and life in general. I don't have that great of an attitude about it because people are wishy washy, don't say what they mean, ghosting occurs, and lies happen. I want to have a positive attitude about it despite human nature. Any advice?

You gave the exact definition I feel about OLD.

For all those reasons, it IS very difficult.

Thanks CGUN. That's how I'm approaching it. And congrats on your new co-CL hat! You'll be a great one.

Mmh, I feel the same way you do and once I take a break, I feel all excited again and think "I have a new attitude" and usually by the end of the 2nd week, all those old feelings come back! I truly try to keep an open mind, but I don't even think it's about the guys and/or the sites. It's just my tolerance level has changed. I don't have time for BS and utterly frustrating going through the process. I guess it's just not fun anymore -- looking forward to the date, what to wear! It's almost like a chore, and then only to find out the guy is a loser, lied or worst, GHOSTS!! Blech!!

Wow, 3 months -- you're good! I can only handle 30 day increments with a 3-4 month break in between! LOL

Does it seem that the first few days your profile is up, you get a lot more responses then but less as time goes by? After awhile, does it seem that only new members tend to send flirts, etc.? I haven't been on a site long enough to know how this works. I suppose it's because the people that are interested have already tried to make contact. Another question I have is if a guy sends several winks, like four in five minutes, is that a bad sign? Thanks. I can kind of relate to what you're saying, too, because after awhile of not having any interesting prospects, I feel like I'm throwing my $ away.
