I've had the most luck on Match and Yahoo and have tried so many. Yahoo and Match continually come through for me. I get the most genuine hits on those two sites.

As much as we complain about it; match.com -- I have had the best success rate as far as meeting men having relationships or just a handful of dates. Yahoo I'm on as well and also get a lot of a mail but for some reason I think I've only had maybe two dates that didn't lead to second dates by my choice (I wasn't feeling it).

I'm on a match date tonight in fact. I also have friends who fix me up, just recently dated a friends cousin (ultimately we wanted different things but still fun while it lasted) and last night a good friend called asking if she can fix me up (someone I actually know thru mutual friends) and thought 'why not' still single thus far and you never know - keep yourself open to all possibilities.

Cheers,
SP

Throughout the last year, I've subscribed to:

eHarmony...huge waste of time and money for me
Yahoo Personals...lots of emails and ice-breakers that led to NOTHING
Match.com...fewer winks and emails but I met my last two boyfriends on this site. I'll stick with Match for now.

I'm currently on a 6 month subscription which will end at the end of the year. I think match is getting rather expensive to do on a month to month basis and it does take a while if you're really looking for a quality relationship. I would suggest doing a 3 month subscription to see if OLD is right for you. It can be a lot of fun if you keep the proper perspective. Look at it as an opportunity to meet people and date.
Depending on where you live (big city=more action) you'll probably get a lot of responses being new but just beware that quantity does not equal quality.
Have fun,
Chele

I have had no luck at all. I am on Match, Yahoo, Perfect Match and eHarmony.

I am 51 years old and I think the numbers are not in my favor. eHarmony was the absolute worst, lots of money and I wound up being "matched" with my abusive ex-husband (his profile was a list of lies). I have winked and emailed but no one of quality has responded. I have gotten a few "how horny are you honey?" emails. Today I happily quit eHarmony.

I have a few suggestions. But, so far the best one has been MySpace. Eventhough, it is not specifically a dating website, it is free to respond and send e-mails and also to post pictures. You get to choose who becomes your myspace friends and if there is anyone you are interested in you can first send a comment. If they respond you can invite him to be your friend and go on from there. This is a really popular site.
Other websites I have tried are yahoo.com and match.com. But, really MySpace has given me the best luck in finding a future special someone.

Hello-
I haven't been on in a couple of months b/c of school..I checked out the mtspace website and it was thoroughly confusing to me! It doesn't seem very user-friendly, and I am computer savvy :) When you do a search for "dates", it brings up sponsors and things that make no sense. Every person you check out, it says that they are in your "extended network"! Did you have that experience or am I not navigating the site correctly? Yahoo personals brings up the scariest looking people, match.com has more attractive choices, but nothing has ever worked out (made a friend or two though), and you just can't do a lot with eharmony for free. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

Hi, I read your message and I can say that MySpace has been pretty easy to understand. The message about the people you search for are your Extended Network, to me just means that they are part of the millions of people on the website. I signed up thinking I wanted to find friends to chat with and ended up finding many of my friends already on there as well as a few people in my family. It's nice because we each have to either go to school or work and this way we can send and reply to messages for free even when we don't have time to chat on the phone. I know that's what e-mail is for, but this is a fun way to do it.
I really did not expect to find dates on this website, but have found a few nice guys to get to know. I especially like the fact that if there is anyone you do not want to contact you, you can ignore them and they can not contact you anymore. You can not do that on the other dating sites. The best thing about MySpace is that it is free to do anything on there. What I don't really like about Match is that if there is someone interested in you and they send you an e-mail, you have to pay to reply. And if you don't reply they might think you are not interested when you really are. I also tried eharmony, but ran into the same problem, you have to pay to reply and do just about everything. I think it's so wrong. Anyways, I have some luck with Yahoo, except that sometimes the matches they send me, do not match what I am looking for. Either they are too young, too old or too far.
Was there any other questions you had about MySpace?

I met my boyfriend on okcupid.com. I like that site because it's totally free, and fun to use. There are also alot of other users, unlike many other free sites I've tried, so you have a better chance of finding someone near you. Since I live in Alaska this has been a problem for me before (I've been OLD since I was 16).
