I have a girlfriend who will be getting her MBA in May. She is absolutely gorgeous but she can not find a good man. She's been single for almost two years now. I just can't believe it! She's well educated, can cook, is well read/travelled but she's also very independent and has strong opinions. She's very "out there" socially and makes it known that she's ready to settle down but at the same time, it's obvious she is not desperate. What are men looking for? They say they want women like her but do they really?
I think I'm running into a bit of that myself. While I am opinionated, I don't state opposing views just to argue.
I've had a few conversations with this one guy. We are in agreement on most things. We'll see where it goes.
I read an article somewhere that pretty much said that men wanted a women that was financially stable, but not too successful and not too smart either.
But just about every profile you look at states they want a woman that is financially stable, independent, yada yada!!! Whatever!!!
Great points. I have often wondered this myself. Are guys truly intimidated by a woman that has it all together-a good career, financially stable, own home, good head on her shoulders, and good relationships with friends and family? Most men claim that this is what they are seeking, but is that really the case?
I am constantly amazed at how many profiles state that they want strong, independent woman. The reality is quite different. I got to the point that I don't lay out whole a lot about myself, my convictions, I try to hold back so not to come across as know it all, seeing it all. I let them talk and I would listen. In all actuality - I have experienced a lot, I have read, I've learned, I did travel. I am curious by nature, I can't help it, I can't stay still - I want to learn and experience as much as possible. I love philosophy.. At last, I do think, think a lot.. I believe I did mention this one guy I was set up with that I was afraid to say much too because I was affraid he would have no clue and I didn't want to embarrass him. I did meet a few men that liked me whole a lot but unfortunately I didn't find the physical chemistry there on my part.

Definitely.
Just like everything in life – yes there are some and there are also a lot of men who won’t date a woman who has her own ideas and opinions.

Pianoguy thinks the only time a man is intimidated by an intelligent woman is when she flaunts her IQ and puts his down!
Most of us appreciate a stimulating conversation.
The only danger I find is this.
I often wonder what makes a guy back off. And I have noticed plenty that do when they realize I have a home, car, and earn my own money. I think it
