So much effort! OLD

I signed up for 3 months, though knew I would grow tired after a month. This has proven to be true! There is so much worked involved with winks, emails (I have nothing to write!) phone calls, meeting... I want to meet someone but this is just too much work!

And then the people that do write or wink I am either not attracted to or they are a little older then what I want (I am 30, so over 36 is older then I want) or they live too far away (don't want to deal with anyone over 45 minutes!!)

So I wonder, how do you all feel about this?

The effort, willing to go lower/higher in age then you want or how far are you willing to travel?

There is some attractive decent sounding guys but the age thing and distance stops me from even bothering to reply...

Hi Azailla,

It depends on what you want to get from the OLD experience. In order to succeed in any program or new activity, you have to learn the rules and work the program. OLDing is a lot of work with keeping up with everything. Maybe your heart really is not into it right now. It isn't for everyone.

Maybe in your descriptive paragraph about yourself and who you want to date, you need to list the specific age range of the men you'd like to meet. You also might want to review your profile and see if there is anything in there that might make older guys think you will go out with them. Does your profile come across as needy in anyway? The older guys seem to want to protect the younger women that come across as needy. Just a few things to look out for...

Yet I state in my profile that I go only a few years over my age and yet I will still get the replies or winks from the guys upto 20 years older - who also usually say they look much younger than their age!

If you don't want to travel very far, then that is your criteria and is ok. Everyone has different opinions on this one. I will drive some but not too much.

Good luck to you Azailla in whatever you decide to do...

Yes, OLD is like a bad joke for some of us: it's a lot of work for very little pleasure...but it beats the alternative (TV EVERY night!).
