ahhh. I am so mad. The guy I had a date with last night called me today. I did not like him like he liked me. SO I told him today that I am taking a break from dating and he told me "ok, good luck with all your psycological issues". UGH. now I feel pissed plus guilty.

<<< It amazes me how men try to turn the situation around and make you feel as if you have a problem. >>>

<<< American men do not take rejection very well. >>>

Wow, the generalizations are running rampant on this thread.

Anyway, rejection is always difficult, but certainly not all men are going to react like this guy. In the rejections I have had, I just tell them "good luck, wish you the best" and try to move on.

It sounds this guy took it very personally, and by him saying that to you out loud, he was trying to convince himself that it was somehow you and not him. It's a thing that some guys will do to try to make them feel better about themselves.

Don't be upset or guilty - I think you did a very stand-up thing by telling him that you were not interested in taking things further. You didn't lead him on and didn't just disappear either. Keep a positive attitude and keep looking for Mr. Right. :)

I swear her comment to me last night was linked to a different post in the thread that was offensive, and instead of showing as deleted seems to have been completely removed. I think that is where the confusion comes from.

Yes, it was not offensive in a mean way, it was offensive in a sick way.
