So rude!

I've been doing OLD dating for a couple years and have developed a pretty thick skin but apparently not thick enough to deal with an insult from a complete stranger. I sent a nice e-mail to a guy on Plentyoffish.com to receive a response from him reading "Hello, Unfortunately your not my type. I like them good looking." I thought that was an extremely rude and unnecessary response. If you're not interested in someone, then either send a simple "Thanks, but I don't think we're a good match" or don't reply at all! While I would normally let this type of thing go, it was really bothering me that a stranger thought he had the right to insult me so I decided to stoop to his level (childish, I know). I wrote: "Well apparently you need glasses then and a grammar lesson - "you are" is spelled "you're" not "your". Good to know because I like them intelligent!"
The kicker? My e-mail wouldn't go throught! He blocked me so I couldn't respond. What a loser - to drop an insult but be too much of a wimp to deal with the repercussions!!
Phew, I feel better now that I vented. Thanks for listening and hopefully you found some amusement in all this :o)

Things like that hurt and shock the system nonetheless. I think it would be normal to lash back at such an idiot's comment. Especially since the OP is a nice looking gal, it just baffles people as to why an A-hole would respond with such a statement.
It only proves that the internet provides a place for these losers to say online what they would not say in person. As I have said before, it's a kid in a candy store mentality for many men and they seem to think there should be no repurcussions for saying something hurtful or behaving badly as long as they can hide behind a computer screen.
I dont think the issue was that he blocked her, i think it was his initial response. I would be upset if someone said that to me, who wouldnt be? If she contacted him and he blocked her without saying anything, i'd think, ouch, but still move on, other fish in the sea. The thing that angers me the most about this is his insulting her. Online dating is hard enough, but there is no reason why he needed to say that.
I would consider reporting him to the site to be honest. I'm not saying he'd get kicked off, but i think he needs some type of warning to let him know that people dont expect to hear that sort of thing from grown adults. Someone like him should not be allowed on the site, but i dont think he'd get banned.
Wow. What an idiot. (shaking head) Yeah, he's single for a reason - because he's a complete *ss.
