So rude!

I've been doing OLD dating for a couple years and have developed a pretty thick skin but apparently not thick enough to deal with an insult from a complete stranger. I sent a nice e-mail to a guy on Plentyoffish.com to receive a response from him reading "Hello, Unfortunately your not my type. I like them good looking." I thought that was an extremely rude and unnecessary response. If you're not interested in someone, then either send a simple "Thanks, but I don't think we're a good match" or don't reply at all! While I would normally let this type of thing go, it was really bothering me that a stranger thought he had the right to insult me so I decided to stoop to his level (childish, I know). I wrote: "Well apparently you need glasses then and a grammar lesson - "you are" is spelled "you're" not "your". Good to know because I like them intelligent!"

The kicker? My e-mail wouldn't go throught! He blocked me so I couldn't respond. What a loser - to drop an insult but be too much of a wimp to deal with the repercussions!!

Phew, I feel better now that I vented. Thanks for listening and hopefully you found some amusement in all this :o)

And I'm sure it's been done nonetheless. Especially after dating for awhile and the guy turns out to be a schmuck. He doesn't call or email anymore or he says he needs some space or whatever. It's always said to block him. And I bet that at least one chick on here has said "Thanks for leading me on." And then blocked. Same deal. I don't even know anyone cares about this obvious loser. Who cares what he thinks at all? Some idiot on the internet - we all know it's full of them...lol.

If you've been doing OLD for a couple years as the OP indicated, this crap is not new. I wouldn't waste a minute thinking about him much less trying to get him banned. What a waste of time and energy! Karma will get him.

I understand your point, yes an a hole like this should not be given a thought or the time of day...but maybe it's easy for you to that because it didnt happen to you? It didnt happen to me, but i still feel mad hearing about someone being such a jerk. UGH! I've heard people say it's rude enough to not even respond to someone...but to actually say write what he wrote? Makes me want to slap this person

Worse has happened to me and more than once. Just the freaks on OLD who get their jollies this way. I give absolutely zero (maybe even less than zero) credence to strangers and what they have to say.

Than I'd knock on some wood because I've come across some pretty rude men online. Maybe it's this particular area (The OP and I are in the same general area for dating men) and I'd say there are plenty of rude jerks around. I've been doing online dating off and on for the past 7 years and I've certainly had my share of creeps like this. I just ignore them.

Smile,

Deirdre
