Some people!

I'm laughing because otherwise I'd be tearing out my hair in frustration! I just started corresponding with a guy on Yahoo personals...I ask him a few questions, he responds but doesn't ask me anything. So I write back to him, ask a couple more questions, and say feel free to ask me any questions that aren't answered by my profile.

So, he writes back, "what do you like to do in your spare time"?

ARGH!!! My profile is FULL of what I like to do in my spare time!

I'm debating how to answer or even whether to answer...right now I'm leaning towards something along the lines of, well, as it SAYS IN MY PROFILE, which you would know if you'd bothered to read it, I like to...

Maybe I should just hit delete...

What is he, stupid? Or just lazy?

If he's cute, give him another chance.

I hate when that happens - and it happens to me a lot.

So many guys seem to expect me to chase after them - even the ones who initiate contact with me. You saw my profile and liked it enough to contact me - so why don't you freakin' talk to me? Say something! Ask a question! Give me your phone number! Something!

I handle it by just going away.

NWW... sorry to hear of it. I'd say just move along to NEXT.

Sparklepuss asked:
>>To the guys-do you think this behavior - a guy talking about him self for about 85% of an interaction - is due to CLUELESSNESS about women OR is it because they aren't really into you?<<

Wait, I thought the problem was that they didn't talk at all. Now it's that they only talk about themselves? :)

Either way, it can be a combination of factors. It might be they're nervous and just blather when that's the case. It might be they're clueless. And it might be they're not that into you.

I know that when I'm into a gal, I ask her more questions instead of only talking about myself and telling stories (and I've got some good stories). But when a first meeting or date isn't really humming along, sure, I'm like anyone else- I'll not pay as much attention.

I do think that guys, as a general rule, are less likely to carry on good conversations than women are. Women just do it all the time, so they're more in practice; guys can sit around with each other and say very little, and still have had a good time with their buddies.

sheri, what did you end up doing?

i once was contacted by someone who said, "tell me something about yourself i don't already know."

since we had never communicated before he didn't know anything.

i figure he was lazy. i told him so and blocked him.

First of all...welcome back to the board.

Now...how about the guy who's initial email to me included the statement: Tell me something about yourself that I need to know and tell me something I shouldn't know.

I haven't responded yet...not sure if I'm going to bother.

I just had an absolutely *lovely* 2nd date tonight, however (or 1st date after our initial coffee "meet" if you will). He made reservations for dinner, brought me a single white rose, was a total gentleman. Great conversation...dinner lasted for about 3 hours! Some guys do still "get it", thank goodness. We made plans to go out again next week...I'm really looking forward to getting to know this guy better. Of course I'll still keep my options open...but it was sure nice to have a really nice date!
