Something driving me nuts

Ok, just for the record, I'm a white woman. Now, I have a LOT of friends of different races, & I don't think of myself as racist. However, I admit that I have only been attracted to white men. Just like some people like cowboys, thin girls or asian women...I just don't find men of other races physically attractive.

So, when I put my preference on these sites as "Caucasian" why on earth am I getting so many Black & Arab men writing to me? Do they not read?

I admit that I was once guilty of not noticing that a guy who caught my eye had "blonde only" as his preference. I caught it after I wrote to him. I really found it interested that some men still won't date a non-blonde or non-redhead or whatever since hair color is so changeable anyway. But, at least I don't go writing to guys who I notice only look for the slim/slender chicks since I am not, nor will I ever be, a waif.

So, why are these guys so obviously not reading?

UGH....just a rant!

I'm intentionally generous on things like height and age. So yes, if someone was a year outside my age range or an inch shorter or taller than the height I prefer, that would probably be too much.

I guess that's the difference.

Well, I think it depends WHAT doesn't match. For me, I have a fairly large age range (25-40). Not so much on race, education, and religion. I feel comfortable saying in my profile that education and religion are a big deal, but not so much about race. I thought yahoo used to let you rank criteria as "not important", "somewhat important" and "very important" but maybe I'm wrong.

I stated explicitly in my profile that I m not interested in meeting a religious person.
still I get emails from guys who go to church every week!
same for age my range is 31 - 37 I get emails from 24 y/o!! and sometime 47 rich guys who "will treat me like a princess and travel the world with me"!
I state I m athletic and looking for the like I get emails from guys who are 70 pounds overweight! It pisses me off when I get emails from people who are nothing like my ideal person. but I do believe some people mass email. they just look at the pictures and email you and so only when you reply they check out your profile. it is just another strategy of filtering.
As for race I find that in all races there are extremely attractive people. I wouldnot mind picking one of them!;~) but I guess this would be just another way of racism!
The guy I m dating now read my profile when I had no picture and he replied to my wink right away. When I asked him how come, he said he liked the way I express myself I was so impressed by that! :~)

I'm glad guys ignore certain "requirements" in profiles, or interpret them as "preferences" instead. If they all followed the rules, I never would have met my 2-inches-too-short, 3-years too old boyfriend. lol

"I stated explicitly in my profile that I m not interested in meeting a religious person. still I get emails from guys who go to church every week!"

My profile stated AGNOSTIC and I would also get the e-mails not only from the guys whose profiles indicated church services once a week (or more!) I frequently got lengthy epistles about God's place in these gentlemen's lives... I think it should be implicit that major differences in religion are dealbreakers.

But then again, as dvlmaycare says, "if they all followed the rules, I never would have met my 3-inches-too-short boyfriend!!

I think what Jennie said was very appropriate... if you let small things like this bother you, you're going to drive yourself nuts.

Don't sweat the small stuff! As Sheri said, that's why there's a delete key.

It's just soooooooo not worth it.

Send them to me! I specifically say I want a Christian, and get athiests. :-) Athiests who then berate me about my religion when I say they aren't what I'm looking for. Maybe I'll start saying I only date men who can read. :-)

I used to think they just replied to nice looking pictures, but I don't even have a picture on yahoo, so that throws that theory out the window. Who knows.

I specifically look for atheist/agnostic/nonreligious and what do I get? Christians trying to 'save' me.

Trade ya!

I had one of those saviors contact me. Every message starts and ends with GOD BLESS YOU.
In my profile I say: Non Religious

I think religious people target non-religious to make it their mission saving us from our evil beliefs.
I sometimes am tempted to put : prefer not to say just to avoid this whole discussion

As I m on the site looking for a boyfriend not to start a philosophical debate on whether HE exists or not. but I hope that the LORD will eventually match each of us with a decent creature.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL :~)
