I hadn't browsed guys' profiles in a while -- probably not since 6 to 8 months ago. Well this morning I went and looked in my area and was amazed.

Most guys that are "model handsome" who were on the service over a year ago -- are still there!

The profiles are terrible. I truly can't figure out if one that had a heading "let's get it on" and favorite activity of "screw" was a joke or a real profile. Then there were multitudes that list their favorite sports teams.

Virtually all of the pictures show their age - as if they are 5 to 10 years old.

Yuk, Yuk, Yuk. OMG I had no idea that it was THAT bad and that really good guys just stayed on the service for ages. I assumed that I'd find maybe one or two familiar faces and a whole new crop of smiling teeth. Instead it's the same old guys in tuxedo's, tank tops and baseball caps...with REALLY TRULY AWFUL Hallmark Card ripoff blabber that are essentially their entire profiles.

My condolences to females everywhere. It's a jungle..

Yes, it's pretty bad.....I am new to this and I was wondering if some of the people stay on here for years too. Thanks for that info.

This is the first time I have "really" tried OLD. I did it ONCE four years ago and was scared off by my first date who cyberstalked me by emailing and IM'ing me pornographic messages. Had to threaten him with the police too and then he stopped. He had a lot of nerve because my job is related to law enforcement, I had screened him and he had a very reputable job too that he was putting in jeopardy.

I put up a profile for the first time in Jan and what do you know.....guy from four years ago messages me wanting to "try again". He mentioned he had "matured" (He was 35 then). I couldn't believe it, really scared me too......

That's awful, imlost. And the type of guy who really gives OLD a black eye. I admire you for trying again after an experience like that. A lot of women wouldn't.
I think a lot of people are off and on OLD. You start seeing someone, hide your profile or delete it, the relationship doesn't work out, you go back on. Not because OLD is so great, but because there don't seem to be a lot of alternative ways to meet people, especially if you're (ahem) a certain age. And I've tried just about all the alternatives -- activities clubs (lots of great women), singles dances (dreadful), dating services (waste of money).

Hi Carrie,

What you said : .

You have just described to a "t" my entire dating life and everything I have tried. Every club I have been in is mostly women. There was a slight difference with the political groups, but any men were married. I have really run out of options and that is how I got here.

And yes, CountryGirl; does that guy have NERVE or what? I really liked the idea that someone had before about leaving feedback for daters just like you do after a sale on Ebay!
