Hey, Sparkle...

I was thinking about your post about not really having hobbies, etc. and something occurred to me --

I know you are into animals; if it bothered you that you didn't have a lot of activities going on (not that I got the impression you did...!) maybe you could look into volunteering at your local Humane Society!

I am on several fundraising committees at mine (it's a no-time-limit shelter; healthy adoptable animals stay forever until they find homes) and sometimes I go just to help clean the crates in PurrTown or take a canine for a long walk in the park. We have fun events -- some fancy, some at a local park or the minor league ball park -- and they're full of other animal folks.

NOTHING takes your mind off any troubles you may have than spending time with these amazing critters. Most of my shelter's are cruelty, neglect and abuse cases and the complete, forgiving love that these beasts show towards the humans will absolve all your bitterness towards the psychos on Match!

Again, not passing judgement in any remote kind of way; just wanted to make a suggestion --

Take care -

-T

Hi,

Good idea for Sparkle, it seems she is a giving, nurturing type of woman! I have been active for a few years with our local volunteers for animal protection (VAP). There is a large Humane Society in Houston, but that is a good 40 minutes from us. They have adoption days and fundraisers, and I always face paint and give all the proceeds to the group. It is also cool to organize an auction, as going to the businesses to 'beg and plead', you can meet some CUTE store managers!!!

Hey, it might as well be good for You, too, Sparkle! :)

Truly,
Cupcake

I am so sorry to hear about your kitty, sparkle! I am a big animal lover and my fur-baby that I'd had for 17 years passed away last October. I still haven't been able to bring myself to get another kitty, yet. She was my special girl and we always had a great relationship - she was sick near the end and it still hurts that I wasn't able to be with her when she passed. She was at the vet and it was during the day so I was at work but I would visit her every night and she was always happy to see me. I still have my other cat, Tabitha who cracks me up daily but it is always hard when we lose our friends. I've thought of volunteering at a shelter too but I always wondered if it would be too hard to see them if they are sick or hurt and also too tough to leave without wanting to take every single one of them home! LOL
