It's getting ridiculous. I have a free account on Yahoo Personals and the last several days I have checked it to see that I have "1 new message", which is exciting because I rarely get any emails. However, I then find out it's an email from a "Russian woman" saying something like this:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hello!!! My name is Tatyana, to me 25 years and I live in Russia.
I looked your profile and I am very much interested by you.
I am young and lonely woman which searches the love and want to create a family.
I have to you serious relations and I would like to learn you a better.
Yes between us the big distance, but possibly we are created each other.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's almost like getting spam in your regular email inbox.
Guys, are any of you getting this same stuff? I have gotten 7 of these in a row -- not the exact same email but just similar to this.
Eric

Wow, really ivos? I didn't know that.
Hopefully you were not offended... I certainly didn't mean it in that way. My problem with these emails is that I don't think any of them are legit at all -- I think it's a scam of some sort and it's probably a guy writing them and sending them out. They all just have the same broken english and many times they have a glamour shot type photo of a woman that looks like a European model. I just get the feeling they are fake profiles.
I didn't mean to make it sound like I had something against Russian women, because that's not the case at all. :-)
Eric
Well I've gotten similar emails. I've also gotten emails about young, hot women who want me. Though I can't understand why because according to the other emails I've gotten, I need a penile enhancement. (Did I mention I'm a heterosexual WOMAN?) ROFL.
Point is... I think you're right. It's probably just spam.
Yes, it's embarrassing to me. I have heard from other men about this so you are not the only one experiencing such e-mails. This definitely makes for a certain reputation and I hate being associated with such but what can one do but to hope that most people view me as an individual vs one of many.
I was living in MIDDLE EAST and I contacted a guy in Canada on Yahoo and we started an online friendship. when I moved to Canada 3 months later for Graduate School we were good friends already and we dated for 6 months. But then I was not looking for someone to give me a legal status here so that's different. I think a lot of women (and many men recently) use Online Dating as the way out from their country or from a situation they re not v. happy about. I would not feel bad about it. Try to chat with one of them you will always learn something about her situation and at the v. least it will make you appreciate your own life more or who knows you might end up with a Modele looking wife! :~)
I have a profile on a travellers website and I get emails from guys all over the world. I dont think it is because they want my help in moving to Canada I think it is more because they have common interests n would like to know more about me.
Comrade Eric,
Nyet to da russkies?
