Ok, that's fair. Sometimes it's more gracious to accept than push.
Just to clarify, it's not at all about being a feminist. Feminism to me is solely about treating men and women equally in the workplace and under the law. It has nothing to do with dating and courtship.
This has to do with not wanting to send the wrong signals.
It's kind of funny; I still hang around here but now I go to some of the other boards as things have evolved...
I go to the Relationships Boards and the "Making a Second Marriage Work" board, looking for posts about dealing with stepchildren... I feel like a Lifetime Movie...!!! Pick an issue, any issue!! :-)
Sounds like you're making some great strides in overcoming your meeting-new-people fears; I'm thrilled for you -- keep it up, darlin'!!! Something good will come along!
No, I don't think that you have to keep on responding to him. He wrote to say thank you, which is unsolicited on your part, and you need not reply, if you do not want to. I am with you; thinking that it might give him the idea that you might want more of his time and attention. No reason to lead someone on, as is written in the Book of Cupcake.
On writing here once in a relationship--I really enjoy the people here and love to get back and see how everyone is doing! OLD can have very positive results,if you can look at it without as much emotion as it brings (not easy, but in time, you will develop that armadillo armor on your heart!, and just go "date by date". I wish for everyone here what I have found with Tall Man.
This board and those here, old and new, still give me great insights and advice, and I greatly appreciate it! Gracias, Y'all!
Keep on movin on, Spark, til some man gives you Very good reason to stop! :)
What is the huge deal about sweating? I wear antipersprant everyday and I still sweat. Especially if I'm outside. We went to a redsox game last year as a group on one of the most humid days all year, it was so humid it was nasty, I knew if I got up I'd have swamp a** it was just that humid. Some people sweat more than others and it's not just easily controlled with things such as antipersprant.
I think you're being a little too harsh on him. I don't think you need to go out with him again, but making fun of him for sweating is a little over the top in my opinion.
