I put a profile on true.com many months ago and never check it (I also forgot my username!). There was noone from my area, so I never really give it any thought. It's interesting that in the last two days I've received 5 'winks' all of a sudden from interested guys kinda nearby. So, I actually emailed two of them, one I gave my real email. I've received no response. Okay, so maybe they weren't really interested enough to email BUT it also made me wonder if the people at true.com see that you're not active and they send out bogus 'winks' to get you back to the site! Just wondering.

Maybe they strip out your email address if you're not paying?

Hi Donna,

This is a business; they will do whatever it takes to get you to sign up and get your money. They have learned that people are More interested in joining when they think there is a "pot of gold" waiting for them. In this case, that is some winks or emails from potential mates, and, as such, the "product" you seek.

Same as a car dealership putting a new car on sale for an outrageously low price. By law, they are Supposed to have one like that On their lot. Hmmmm, amazing, though that when You get there it "just sold, but we have some others at good prices too...right this way"!

Ahhhh...the old "bait and switch"--don't bite the hook!

Truly,
Cupcake

on an international site called friends4u.com I received a smile from a guy so I replied to his smile with my email contact and a little intro about me. So the guy emailed back.
One day we were chatting (The guy lives in the UK) and he asks me how come I picked him from the crowd eventhough we are so far away. I said but you sent me a smile. he told me he did not visit the site for a very long time let alone sending smiles. so anyhow, it turned out the site sent me "his" smile to get me visit the site more often!
so yeah it is possible and I find it sleasy... I usually delete my profile when i suspect they do this!
