1. What kind of kid were you in highschool? (nerdy, popular, outgoing, trouble maker, boy crazy or girl crazy, or simply easy breezy?) And have you changed much since then, or do you look and act the same now?

2. Did you go to your 10 year reunion or are you planning to soon? Have you done all you set out to do in your life or maybe what did you plan to do after highschool?

***The reason I ask this is because my reunion is coming up next year and I have been talking with our class president this week. It was just weird to hear how he saw me in school. I am nothing like I used to be. I would say I was shy at first, a pretty good student and then my senior year I was very popular and alittle on the wild side. lol I am nothing like that now and it was just a long walk down memory lane this week and wondered about all of you. How some of you might have been in highschool and how you saw yourselves now. I guess for some of you it may not have been that long ago, but I wonder if you are different now or do you plan on doing something extraordinary with your life!

(feeling like I want to go back and change a few things in highschool, but then if i did I may have what I have now. )

And have you changed much since then, or do you look and act the same now? I was semi-popular, I was the girl who was nice to everyone, but I mostly stuck with my group of friends, we had "our" lunch table and no one else sat there lol. I'm still pretty much the same and I look just a little different :)

2. Did you go to your 10 year reunion or are you planning to soon? Have you done all you set out to do in your life or maybe what did you plan to do after highschool? 10 year reunion?! Yea, I'll go to it....in 8 years lol. I can't really say I've set out to do things, because I'm just starting to do them...I'll let ya know in a few years :)

-- At first I was an honor student with just one or two friends. We moved a lot when I was a kid, and I was very shy, so I was never had a lot of friends. I never was allowed to do afterschool stuff, because my mom had 6 kids and I had to come straight home to help.

But then I discovered boys! At the last school I went to, I never made any girl friends - I wasn't into giggling about boys, make-up and clothes. So I just went and sat with the boys! They spent most of their time telling me dirty jokes to watch me blush, but they couldn't scare me away! {smile}

Richard, the ex-bf I am currently talking to, was actually one of those boys! He has been in and out of my life since I was 15y old.

2. Did you go to your 10 year reunion or are you planning to soon? Have you done all you set out to do in your life or maybe what did you plan to do after highschool?

-- I never heard anything about reunions with the schools I went to. Back then I wouldn't have gone, but I would love to go back now. All my friends and family are commenting on how different I am now - not the same person at all! But all the cute guys would be old, fat and bald by now! {smile}

I had no other plans than to get married and become a mother after high-school, and I did that. Married my high-school sweetheart at 18y and I have 3 sons. I never expected to own my own business and to become the successful single parent/business woman that I am today!

I was the bad girl.I hung out with some of the worst kids in school.I am not proud of the fact that I never finished high school.I got my ged and went to beauty school instead.I have changed very much since high school,I look the same except not braces but now I am a responsable adult.NO partying for me like I did in high school.

WOW! Catherine, I would be proud to go to my reunion with your life. A business owner, single mother of three sons. That is quite an accomplishment my friend. I am very proud of you and here you are driving too!~

(smiles)

Good job!

Gail

P.S. You will certainly have to clue us in more on Mr. Richard. ~

Crystal, your highschool friends sound like my entire graduating class. Half of them are either in jail, or on probation. Then, the other half are working at Jiffy Lube or Walmart. It is a sad way to go really. I am sorry to hear about the deaths. Not good. Well, at least you are all grown up now and doing well for yourself. I always thought I was a bad girl sometime in my senior year, but not bad enough cause there were others worse than me. Usually those were the girls that took my bf's. lol Thanks for sharing your story. SO, are you a hairstylist? Or do you work at a salon now? I went to beauty school myself. I am a beauty school drop out, totally. lol I do know how to cut hair though. lol

high school...

1) I was definitely the nerdy type - science classes, debate team, forensics, etc. And very shy and self-conscious. I think I have changed a lot since then. I'm still in science, so the nerdy part is probably the same (lol), but I am considerably less shy, more outgoing, and more adventurous. When I describe the person I used to be to my friends here or to my DB, they don't believe me.

2) My 10 year reunion would have been a couple of years ago, and I didn't even hear about it. Don't know if we had one, but I would not have gone anyway. I think if it was today though, I would go. I am very proud of my life now and what I've done and it would be fun to see if everyone else turned out like I expected.

Debbie you said, "still" in science? Are you in college now? OR do you work in some science field? I wish I was that smart in science, but I hated science and math. Still do! I dont even like to take 15% of the bill for the waiter/waitress! lol I just give em 5 bucks or more and Im done. I hate to add or subtract and dont even come at me with some neurons and atoms and such!! WHEW! lol AND Nuclear medicine? OH MY! Im not about any of that stuff! Here I go rambling again. Sorry. Anywho!

Nope, fortunately not in college anymore. I finished my doctorate last year in human genetics and now I'm working in a biochemistry lab.

I was totally manipulated into science - my dad is a chem. engineer and I grew up doing chemistry experiments in the kitchen sink!

And don't worry about the math thing. I'm horrible at arithmetic too. Once they handed me a calculator, all my math tables went right out of my head!!

Freak of nature, huh?? I'm sure that Kelly might agree with you! lol

That is the funny thing though about wanting them smart. When I did the online dating thing, I screened for guys with higher education because usually they are the only ones who can deal with a woman with an advanced degree. But instead I fell in love with a guy who dropped out of college to join the military. Now, I tell Kelly all the time that he is smarter than I am, so education is only one measure of intelligence. One more reason I am glad that I gave meeting someone online a chance, because otherwise I am certain we never would have given each other a second look.

One correction though...I'm not Canadian. I spent the first 28 years of my life in Michigan and moved here only about 9 months ago. Although with the way the US government is going, I am seriously considering changing my citizenship...
