He told me early on, maybe 2nd or 3rd date. I think he told me to explain why he didn't join me in a glass of wine. It didn't bother me at all, especially since if he hadn't told me, I wouldn't have noticed. Apparently RA runs in his family and his mother has it worse, but his is under control. He was also taking anti-seizure medication to control epilepsy and some type of anti-depressant too. All of these medications came with the no-alcohol clause. I just felt bad for him that he had to take all these pills every day. And he was a young guy (mid-30s).
OT - but I was wondering if you've tried Enbrel? My mom was on it for her RA and she went in remission. Sadly, she had to go off it because of a chronic staff infection. But it's really good stuff.
>>I don't see the issue as being none of their business though, and the real issue is not the drinking.
I realized as soon as I hit "post" that I sounded a bit more extreme than I meant to. I meant that it's not the business of virtual strangers. So on a "meet" I wouldn't get into the details. If it looks like it might become more than that, though, I explain the details.
Hope your mom gets coverage soon - that craps EXPENSIVE!!!
My mom's not doing great. She had to up her prednisone for a bit because of a flareup. I don't know how a person can be in so much pain almost 100% of the time and still be, on the whole, a pleasant, happy person. (I whinge a bit about her because I'm the one who sold my house to move in and take care of her - not any of my 4 sisters - I get frustrated and tired...but overall my mom's just a great person.)
