Two meets this weekend!
Find a Conversation

OK, I'm on a roll (hopefully not a bad one). I am meeting a CL guy tomorrow afternoon for a drink. I tried to push for the coffee thing, but anyway. It's a late afternoon meet so I feel OK about it and that I'm not going to get knee-walking drunk on a first meet.
The second is a tentative lunch meet with an eH guy. I'm getting more iffy on him as it goes along. He doesn't drink coffee or alcohol (or very rarely), is only 8 months divorced and said 2 or 3 times in the conversation last night that he doesn't believe in divorce but that this wasn't his choice. Hmm. Can we say baggage, anyone? And he has two very small children (13 months and 2.5 years). He swears he mentioned it, but I know that's something I'd remember.
I am still bummed that teacher guy ghosted on me. I'm tempted to call one more time. He was really nice. Nice voice guy and no call guy are not a big deal, but I kinda had hopes for teacher guy.
Anyway, we'll see.

I like your nicknames for your guys. "Nice voice guy" is my favorite.
Good luck with the meets this weekend. Keep us posted. :)
AJ, enjoying life with C.
Well, update as promised. I met the second CL guy today. He was nice enough, looked like his picture and we had decent conversation. But two BIG minuses - he's a smoker (I need put that in my ad) and even though he's 37, he acted like he was 22. He'd picked the place which was a bar even though I had suggested coffee. It was fine, a cool place that I wouldn't mind going again with friends. But as we sit there, he had 3 drinks (in about 2 hours) and I think he'd had at least one before I got there AND the kicker here is that he said he wanted to buy me a shot. I'm thinking, "What, is this college?!?" He told me I could pick but he'd like to buy me a Jager-Bomb (Jagermeister and Red Bull). I politely declined as very rarely am I a shot kinda girl and even then, NEVER EVER on a first meet. I'm not sure if it was a test to see how "fun" I am, but whatever. We didn't discuss a second date, but it was not an unpleasant time. I would not date him though due to the smoking thing.
Other update - Teacher guy resurfaced. After my reply on Wednesday, he finally replied on Friday afternoon and I replied again. He called tonight but I was having dinner so I didn't hear. I'll call back tomorrow. He still seems nice so we'll see. Gotta make sure he's not a smoker!
No, he was drinking beer as did I. However, if I'd agreed, he would have ordered a Jagerbomb for himself too. I think he really wanted one and was using buying one for me as an attempt at an excuse to get one. Hey, he could have had one if he wanted, but not my thing!
Oh and another thing is he was jokingly "harassing" me about the fact that I had no plans for St. Patty's Day. Sometimes I do something, but rarely do I do anything since it's a holiday all about drinking, drinking, drinking oh and maybe a parade. Umm, yeah. Not really me. But he was just totally shocked that I did not have plans yet. I think he's a bit too much of a party guy for me.
HOLD THE PRESSES!!! You mean St. Paddy's day is not a national holiday?!?!?! *me faints* LOL
Ok, I'm of an Irish background and I love St. Paddy's day. But I definitely don't make plans for it. Yes, I love to drink (green beer tastes better) and I love going where the loud music is and having a blast. But making plans for it? In February? Good grief! LOL
LOL! Yes, he is Irish (or so he said) and said he makes big deal out of it every year and sometimes even takes trips to other places to go to St. Pat's celebrations. He's new to the Dallas area though so he's going to stay here and check out ours.
Oh yeah, that was the third minor strike - he's a bit pretentious. I think he makes a lot of money and didn't seem to have any problem talking about all the things he has. He has a house still in Tampa while renting an apartment here. Buys cars to just buy cars (old ones to fix up) and has 3 or 4 and says "everyone should have at least 2 cars - one for fun and one for everyday". I'm thinking, well, yeah, most people can barely afford one, thank you. That and his traveling all over on a whim.
Anyway, it looks like meet #2 is not going to happen. He said he'd call to arrange things and I haven't heard anything. That's strike 3 as this was baggage guy that's recently divorced and has two small children so I'm not that broken up about it. Besides, it's nasty and cold here. I'm planning a day of sitting on the couch watching DVDs and house stuff (if I can get my butt off the couch).
Ooh! SHOTS on
Well - i am in Newport, RI & they plan a YEAR ahead of time for the BIG DAY!
