I had a conversation on the phone with a guy and we really hit it off on Saturday. He called me later that day and I wasn't available and I called him later and he was on his way out. He said we'd talk again. I haven't heard again from him. I sent him an email on Sunday saying I enjoyed our conversation.

So how long do you wait until you just write him off??

Thinking of my co-workers and some of my friends, I think that a lot of guys are interested in marriage, but they see it differently than before. My brother avoided "commitment" because he was given the message, growing up, that he would be responsible for supporting a family. He didn't want that level of responsibility, so he kept delaying it. In contrast, a lot of the guys I know now in their late twenties and thirties seem to feel that the woman they marry will be partly responsible for supporting the family, and what they want in a woman is someone who will combine domestic interests with a decent job/income. The way they talk, they seem to want women to bring more into the marriage than just looks and the traditional domestic skills. So in that sense, I think that there is more pressure on women.

On the other hand, many guys I know seem to feel that they need women to "make a home" for them in a way that women no longer feel that they need a man. All the women I know are self-supporting or able to be self-supporting. It sure changes the dynamics of male-female relationships.

I'll never forget overhearing my brother's single friend saying to my sister-in-law: "I just don't want to settle." I could barely keep a straight face since the dude was 40, short, fat and bald.

Lmao, THANKS for the laugh!!!
Ah, men ;)
