Well, had a guy answer my CL ad. We were chatting online & he asked why I didn't want children (which I mentioned in my ad). WHen I told him my reasons he said, "That's not a convincing argument" which of course rubbed me the wrong way. I'm not trying to convince anyone, just stating why I feel as I do & it should just be accepted as good enough for me. Then he asked if he could see some of my photography on Flickr. Well, he's been picking them apart & critiquing them for the last 30 minutes (I didn't ask) but says they are so good they're orgasmic (whilst picking them apart) & asked if he could download some for desktop wallpaper & screensavers.

This is just weird. I get the feeling this guy is VERY nitpicky IRL.

And now he basically insulted me. I have a small photo taken of me by a professional at an event recently, just a little avatar thing on my Flickr page. He said "wish you did a better job with your self potrait.Its a shame that your pic on there looks so outdated." Of course, I didn't take it & it was taken about 2 months ago, hardly outdated. WTF?

Hello

That's so true Some guys are so rude.....And they have some nerve

I just wanted to ask all of you something on this suject without dealing this tread;
Have any of you ever had the impression that some men are on OLD sites only to look at
the pictures of ladies online?

I use Lavalife and I often get smiles/wink from men who want to see my backstage pictures right off the bat, without establishing any further communication. On some occations,men have even have the nerve ask if is possible for me to send them my picture(s).

I always say NO politely. It freaks me out. I always wonder... Are they freaky collectors keeping X number of pictures of women on their PC or laptop?

W

I think for many it is a game. The majority of men I have encountered were either not really serious about finding someone long-term (despite what their profiles said) or they have some fantasy woman that no actual "real" woman can measure up to. It's a real crapshoot if the guy ends up wanting to take you out more than once or twice; that is IF you also have some attraction towards him.

I am to the point where I do not believe nor trust most men now. That is one reason I am still not active on either of the dating sites I have been on. I'm quite disillusioned by the games, the lies, and the hectic lifestyles that allow no real dating time to begin with. You think you meet someone who is honest and not into games and then he pulls some of the same crap as the others...and that has happened to me time and time again in regular dating as well as OLD.

I am able to accept my label as jaded, bitter, and angry. I do not know when or if my opinion will ever change. But I'm calling a spade a spade when it comes to dating.
