well I knew it couldn't last...

Well, I finally heard from Bachelor #1 around 6pm tonight, cancelling our date. I wouldnt be that irritated if he had called me earlier in the day and told me he didn't have a babysitter. But he waited for me to call him, and then he called me back. This is what I consider strike one!
He gets three.....

What was his reason for cancelling?
I don't have a problem making a call to confirm a date. I'm not sure what time you guys were getting together, but at times babysitting issues may come up!! Regardless of who made the call, at least he called to cancel regardless of the reason.
Why were you so irritated that he didn't call you earlier?? Regardless, if you prefer the guy to call you earlier, I would hope that you communicated that to him!! Stand firm and true to who you are, cause if the guy is a flake you will find out soon enough!!!
Stay positive cause "if you knew it wouldn't last", trust me IT WON'T!!!
I agree with you. I'm sorry but if he is having problems with a sitter and it's early on in dating, under 6 dates and I'm assuming he said he'd call to confirm, waited until you called at 6 PM at night I agree. Had you not called would he have waited until 7 or 8? I was just in a similar situation and I let the guy go after I repeatedly asked him, if you say your going to call at noon to confirm then call around that time. Noon is not 7 PM at night after I've called YOU when you said you'd call me.
There are a lot of men that realize it takes less than 60 seconds to pick up the phone to say "hey, I might not be able to get a sitter tonight" just wanted to give you the thumbs up so you can make alternate plans - trust me, it's not that difficult. I'd do it and I expect the same as do you. Bad time management is a deal breaker, it shows that they don't value your time only there's. If your supposed to show up at work at 8 AM and you come at 9 do you think that will fly? No! Dating should be handled the same way, relationships take time and effort and to me these are the basics aka calling when you say you will at a decent time, letting you know you might not be able to make it so you can make other plans.
Have you asked him before about this? The guy i dated 5 times was this way at least 3 out of 5 dates and then I wrote him off - he would be an hour late for our dates, not call when he said he would, I'd tell him how important it was and yet he never changed.
It's better to move on with guys like this ...

PS True story. My friend dated this surgeon years ago in Miami. In the middle of surgery I kid you not, he had the nurse put her on speaker phone in the middle of his surgery. He said "babe" "just calling to confirm that we're still on for the HEATS game tonight" -- now that man had a very good excuse NOT to call but the moral is HE DID call and didn't use any excuse, he was a doer and make her a priority--above and beyond. So when anyone says I don't have the time that is an excuse!
I really have to agree with you and sp -- this was outrageous! Does the guy have any idea at all how tricky it is to deal with the sitter issue? He should, and the fact that he didn't even call you in a timely manner would turn me right off.
He really needs to be told of his uncool behaviour or it will happen again and again.
