So i've been doing online dating for a month now. Havent really met anyone that has wowed me, given me butterflies, etc. I do not contact people, and most of the guys that have contacted me i havent been wowed by. Not trying to sound rude or shallow...just how it is. So over the weekend 2 guys contacted me who i felt wowed by. One sent an icebreaker, the other sent an email that could have been sent to others, but he put my name in there etc. And pretty much all the other people who have contacted me have done the same sort of thing. When i've written back to the people who contact me, they all write back again. So I wrote back to one of the guys Sunday, the other yesterday, neither have written back yet. What is UP with that?? WHY contact me if when i write back, you are not going to write back?
it's jsut frustrating to me i guess because some of the guys that i've written back to after they've contacted me, I've thought, eh, i dont really care if i hear from them again-and of course i do hear from them. But these two guys I WOULD like to hear back from and haven't. SO annoying!!!

Yeah, that is annoying and frustrating when people contact you but then don't write back...but it happens all the time. It's one of those "why ask why" questions you'll never get an answer to...so I've given up asking!
It is possible though that the guy who sent the icebreaker isn't a paying subscriber so that might be why he didn't respond.

well what would be his point in sending that then?
He may have been hoping that you'd realize he wasn't a subscriber from the fact that he sent you an icebreaker and that you'd find a way hide your email address in your response (which used to be fairly easy to do so long as you didn't use the @ symbol or ".com" but I haven't used match in ages so I don't know if it still is that easy to do.)

this is yahoo. How frustrating...
Ah, ok. Yahoo didn't used to strip out email addresses sent to non-subscribers but my understanding is that they have now started to do so. So if you're really interested in him I would write again and say something like, "if you prefer you can get in touch with me at at Yahoo." It's possible that their program is sophisticated enough to strip that out but probably not.

Well, also keep in mind it hasn't been that much time.
