What do you think of guys who give their phone number right away and ask you to call them? Or email and ask right away to meet for coffee or drink or movie??

And doesn't talk on email? Do you think they prefer talking live and they don't care for typing?

Well, my typical response, IF I am willing to give them my cell # is, "Sorry, I dont make the call 1st. Here is my number & If you'd like, feel free to call me".

Yeah, I should've asked him to call me but I don't have a cell phone!

I am trying to cut down on the emailing and IMing for weeks because it really sucks to waste so much time and only to find out we don't click.

Oh, yes, not having a cell is tough. Then that IS a differnt story b/c then for safety reasons, you wont want to give out your home #.

I'm really flexible about the "talking on the phone before meeting" issue. Most of the time, I don't talk on the phone and just meet in person. To me, talking on the phone is good and bad. Good because you could weed out someone you don't want to waste time on right away. Bad because you could weed out the wrong guy by voice or intonations... for example, I'm really sensitive to someone who has a higher pitched voice or talks in sort of an feminine manner... these traits may not be too obvious in person, but over the phone I would have a strong negative reaction.

As far as calling first, I actually prefer that the "I" do the calling because I can call when it is convenient for ME. And I don't have to worry about getting calls when I'm busy or can't talk or unprepared.

Good luck!
