What kind of First Dates to you like?

So you've emailed and talked on the phone and everything seems right. You First-Meet for the ritual coffee and it's all nice. He says he'll call you and he does. He asks you out for a date.
Where/What would a good First-Date be for you?

Extra points if he doesn't let me win. I hate that. Bring your best game - I don't care if I haven't made a shot. Playing against better people only makes ya better.
Are you gonna ask someone out? Do tell!

Okay, so we've done the coffee thing. Next thing, if he hasn't suggested anything, would be dinner. A great way to get to comfortable with someone over bread and wine.
If it's summer, though, I would definitely drag him to an evening ballgame at our wonderful park. It's only AAA ball, but still baseball, and you can have hotdogs and beer in the stands and the crowd is very friendly. And you can still talk. Lots of fun.

Dinner, and then something fun and silly like mini-golf or pool

I guess dinner seems to be the norm. I've only been on three first dates (a dozen first meets and only 3 first dates... yuk) and two of the three were dinner, but neither made it to third (date), so go figure. Maybe a late drink and dancing? That would be fun! Then you could always call it an early night if the two of you are not hitting it off, rather than waiting for the maitre'de.
BTW, ROTFLMAO about LG's post. hilarious.
SO, ya gonna update us? Or is this just a general question to see what we here in OLD board posting land like? Just for future reference? or what?

Funny you should say that. I've had 2 first-meets through OLD. The first was indoor glow-in-the-dark mini golf, on his idea, which was great. It's both physical & interactive, you can talk as much as comfortable and if it gets awkward you just concentrate on your game... you get a sense of how competitive they are if you like/don't like that sort of thing. After golf we went for coffee & continued talking.
Second first-meet was coffee followed by dinner followed by air hockey & pool. Good times were had by all.
Bummer neither of those worked out, but whatever.
It's nice to just go have fun & it gets those goofy "interview" vibes outta there.
