What not to write

I know that both men and women lie about their age in their profiles, but this one was a first for me. I heard from a guy who lists his age as 49 (I'm 56). In his email he says that his age is really 56, he just "hit the wrong buttons" and is "trying to figure out how to fix it." Pul-eeze. In the time it took him to write that he could have gone on match and changed it. I haven't looked at his profile so I don't know his height, but he also calls attention to the fact that he is very short.
Unless he is incredibly dense, I know he is listing his age as 49 so that he will show up in more searches. Kind of sad, really. And I wonder if he's really 56? Maybe he's 66?
I would also recommend striking "I look younger than (insert age)" and "Many people mistake me as younger" from your profile. It just makes you seem insecure--whether you are or not. If you've got photos posted, they tell the story. That is, if your photos aren't 10 years old.
