What time of year is better for OLD?

I've tried OLD at different times of the year, mostly when I feel I have the time to actually date, and when the main services offer specials.
End of summer and early fall seems to be a time in my experience when there are a lot of newcomers to the field. Then things get quieter around the holidays and in the winter.
eH sends me a ton of new matches when I first subscribe, and those quickly wither to a trickle until I might get one or two per month. And it never fails...the day my subscription is set to expire, they send me a new one that looks promising. Coincidence? Is it possible they hold a few matches in 'reserve' for each of us, to keep us coming back?

Hi. I haven't posted on this board in forever, but I was a regular back in my OLD days...
Anyway, I had the best luck with OLD in late spring/early summer. I don't know if that is because I live in Chicago and the weather in the winter is just too nasty or what. It seemed to me that spring was great because everyone's really itching to get out of the house as much as they can, but they haven't gotten totally booked up with obligations the way I always seemed to by mid summer.
I've had 3 long term (more than 1 year) relationships that I met online... first was in March, but we talked for a long time before, second I met in May, and the third was mid June (would have met sooner but I had been out of town for most of June that year).
So, that's my experience, for what it's worth!
They are not in the business of finding you a BF, they are in the business of collecting monthly fees from subscribers.
Your final reward will be heartaches and tears if you’ve cheated the man in the glass. &nb
i definitely do not think it's a coincidence that you get more emails when your subscription is about to run out. it's planned that way. some sites even put up fake profiles to make it seem like there are more members out there.
i haven't done OLD long enough to notice any seasonality. i was wondering if the new year would bring an uptick to new members joining dating sites. seems like it would be on many people's new year resolution. maybe that's wishful thinking!
I do not currently do OLD, but find your question interesting.
If you think about OLD from a business perspective you get a different point of view.
