What was I thinking???

I had a lunch date today with a guy I met off one of the sites. Since his schedule is more flexible than mine (he's self-employed), he agreed to come to a restaurant near my job, so I could get back to work at a reasonable hour. When he asked me to suggest a restaurant, I guess I wasn't thinking straight because I picked a popular local place that has nice ambiance, good food and is easy to find. It's also a place that is frequented by a number of my co-workers. Can you guess what happened next?
Yes, situated at a table right by the door was a group of my co-workers, including my BOSS. They saw us immediately, but luckily I didn't see them. If I had, I don't know what I would have done at that moment.
So, we were escorted to our table and a few minutes later I hear this LAUGH. It sounds familiar. I look up and I am in the direct line of sight of my BOSS (who's a 40something single woman too). Now I know I'm busted and to quote Ricky Ricardo....."LUCY, you've got some 'splaining to do!"
At least they had the good sense not to come over to the table but they practically had their noses glued to the window as they were leaving. LOL!
When I got back to work, I had about 5 voicemail messages and a bunch of emails waiting for me. I guess next time, I better pick a place that's off the beaten path.

Who cares about them? I wanna know how the date went! Do tell!
Lisa
You're too funny. I'm glad your colleagues are decent enough not to embarrass you in public.
I once ran into a former co-worker while on a second date with someone. He spotted me first and said "hello" and nothing more. But you could tell from his body language and the look in his eye he was thinking, "JH has a da-ate. JH has a da-ate."
Oops. I left out the most important part....
How'd the date go?
Lisa and JH,
Thanks for asking. I thought the date went well, but we are all too familiar with what happens when we think that. NADA!!! Let's put it this way, he was really nice. If he calls me, I would definitely go out with him again. If he doesn't, I won't be slitting my wrists over it any time soon.
The only unfortunate thing is that I am fresh out of "NEXT'S"
