what's with the bed poses?

I see an unusual number of women posing on beds. Usually they are facing the camera, on their stomaches with a pillow under them. So it's sorta a heads on shot.
My only thought is they do it because (a) they're using a self-timer and (b) it doesn't fully display their butt which for some odd reason women seem paranoid about and find any number of ways to hide in photographs (sitting with pets on their lap seems the new favorite -- but hiding it behind objects or cropping it in a photo are close runners up).
Unless you have trouble fitting your butt through the door - I think it should be a logical part of your full body shot. Whatever you crop out - I assume is 10x worse that what it actually is.

I don't worry about the butt. If/when we meet in person, I'm going to get a better idea about it anyway, and pictures never really tell the story.
What I can't believe is how many women post on BEDS. I'm sorry, maybe I'm a tad old fashioned or hung up on sex or something, but I really think that a picture of a woman on a BED is a horrible idea- unless she wants to send a message "I WANT SOME SEX."
And you almost NEVER see a guy posed on a bed. Ever. Just women.
(Yes, I occasionally search the guys- gotta know my competition, see what cliches are in their ads to avoid, etc.)
To every woman reading here, both the regular posters and the lurkers, take it from me: If you pose on a bed, you should NOT complain that you are getting notes from sex-crazed men. There's really only two main things that people do in/on beds, sleeping and sex. In fact, I don't think you should even have a picture where there's a bed in the background!
I agree that posing on a bed is a bad idea unless a woman wants a man for sex.
No, men don't pose on beds but they do pose with no shirt, open shirt, thumb hooked in the front of the pants with the open or no shirt, torso only shot in their undies, with their cars (including a policeman who had a picture of himself in front of his cop car) or as we have ickily heard in otherwise indecent poses (naked or as we have ickily heard that guy in the middle of an unmentionable activity another poster brought up a couple weeks back). So sure, you don't get the bed poses but since I personally have received all but the last type of photo, I think that women get the worst of the bad or inappropriate photos! :-)
