Where Is This Going?

I met a guy online about 4 weeks ago. We have met in person two times but each "meeting" has been very casual...just a couple of drinks. There's definitely a mutual attraction between us and we even kissed goodbye on our second "meeting." We have chatted online almost every day since we met. Sometimes its for just a few minutes, sometimes its a few hours.

What I'm use to with OLD is an exchange of e-mails, exchange of phone numbers, meeting and then dating if there is a mutual attraction BUT this guy has never asked for my phone number. (I did offer it to him once but he didn't say thanks and has never used it.) Because of his behavior I've asked him if he's married or living with someone. He told me no but that he's new to OLD and doesn't know how this all works. I really like this guy.....he's attentive in his chatting conversations and initates contact with me more often then I initate it with him. He hasn't suggested getting together again nor has he asked me out on what I'd consider a real date....not just a casual meeting.

Anybody out there experience anything like this? Any ideas on how to get this to progress from OLD to "real life?" Anyone think he's waiting on me to make a move or does he sound content in how this OLD relationship is going?

I would do the same thing that I suggested to sparklepuss in her recent thread...offer your phone number AGAIN and ask him to *call* you if he'd like to get together again (and stop emailing or IM'ing him). If he fails to take you up on that, move on...unless you want a pen pal.

Thank you for your advice! I really like this guy and would like to move it from just a "chatting" relationship to something real. With the comment he made about OLD being new to him, it made me wonder if he thought this is the way OLD should go? I know he' very busy with is work but there's been times that he's been home and online and we've chatted. I've thought during those times...how come we're not out doing something fun, together? I'll offer my number to him, again, and see what happens.

Thanks!
