Put yourself in my shoes for a moment.

You signed up for free on a new dating site just to check it out. You have 18

If it's American Singles, Date.ca, or one of that family of sites, don't sign up at all. Any site that makes you sign up to read email sucks.

$14.99 - because if the result is pleasant - I won't need more than a month. If the result is unpleasant - I'll save $20. And if it looks promising I'll be glad to pay more.

What LG said and for the same reasons. Also, I liked having the flexibilty to withdraw from OLD at anytime I felt I needed a break without feeling tied to a long term subscription.

But if you don't like any of the current prospects, why not wait to subscribe until someone interesting comes along?

It's a jewish site - not jdate though. There is one jewish site that allows non-members to read and respond to email sent by paying members. There is also one that is 100% free. The only problem with those two sites is that there are very few men on there who live in my area. Even the one I'm asking about here has very few members in my area - but it's much cheaper than jdate .

(Dating - or more accurately - marrying someone jewish is important to me. The large sites like match and yahoo have very few jewish members

That's the one I was leaning towards. While 49.99 for a lifetime membership is a good deal - who the heck plans on being online for the rest of their life?

But yeah - I'm not going to sign up now. It's just something I'm maybe thinking about for the future.
