I have never:

dated someone long distance, dated someone who is divorced, dated someone with kids, or dated someone whose first language isn't English

I have:

dated someone who made significantly more AND someone who made significantly less than me, I've dated someone whose level of education was higher and someone whose education was lower than mine, I have dated someone who doesn't have a car MORE THAN ONCE (never again!!!!), dated someone who doesn't live alone, and dated someone for more than two months

And I have DEFINITELY made some really foolish and naive mistakes that are almost too embarrassing to admit .

dated someone long distance? ~Nope

dated someone who is divorced? ~Nope

dated someone with kids/without kids? ~Never dated anyone with kids

dated someone who made significantly more/less than you do? ~Most have been about the same, but the current one makes alot more than me

dated someone whose level of education was higher/lower than yours? ~Yes, my ex hadn't even graduated from high school, and my current bf has a ton of education

dated someone whose first language isn't English? ~Yes

dated someone who doesn't drive/have a car? ~Nope

dated someone who doesn't live alone? ~Yes

dated someone for more than two months? ~Yes

Finally....who here has never ever made some really foolish and naive mistakes that are almost too embarrassing to admit ? ~I think most people have made some sort of embarrasing mistakes. My very first date with my current bf started off as a total disaster. (It was all my fault too) but we made it through and we're still together : )

I have never done any of the questions, becuase in the almost 3 years of off and on OLD, I've only had 2 dates with 2 different guys that never went beyond that first date!

>>1. dated someone long distance?
Been there, done that, not going to do it again if I can help it. I'll meet people from LD, but ultimately I wouldn't consider myself in a "dating" relationship until we have spent significant amounts of time together and there's plans for someone to move so we can build a *real* relationship.

(Of course, since I'm in a great relationship right now, with luck I won't need to worry about any of this again!)

>>2. dated someone who is divorced?
Been there, done that.
.

3. dated someone with kids/without kids?
Been there, done both.
.

>>4. dated someone who made significantly more/less than you do?
Been there, done both. Doesn't matter as long as she's not hung up on money.
.

>>5. dated someone whose level of education was higher/lower than yours?
Been there, done both. See #4.
.

>>6. dated someone whose first language isn't English?
Been there, done that. Only a problem if their English is hard to understand (and yes, I don't speak any other languages, and I recognize that it's a bit hypocritical to be hard on someone with poor English when I don't speak anything but English, but there it is.)
.

>>7. dated someone who doesn't drive/have a car?
Well, I had *one* first date/meeting with a gal who didn't drive. This one would depend on WHY they don't drive.
.

>>8. dated someone who doesn't live alone?
Doing that right now! :) My gf has a roomie who I get along with quite well.
.

>>9. dated someone for more than two months?
Been there, done that.
.

>>10. Finally....who here has never ever made some really foolish and naive mistakes that are almost too embarrassing to admit ?
Been there, done that, probably going to do that again soon. :)

Okay. Now you've piqued my curiosity. But at the same time I'm almost afraid to ask what you meant by that comment.

I'm really starting to enjoy these little polls!

1. Never an LDR, had considered it.

2. Have dated divorced, separated (big mistake) and widowed.

3. With and w/o kids. Found those w/kids more sympathetic to scheduling difficulties.

4. Yes to greater and lesser incomes.

5. Yes to both. My current BF has a Phd which scared the hell out of me. So much so I almost didn't commuunicate with him. But I've discovered that he can be just as "goofy" as I can! LOL

6. No to the lagnuage barrier. Just never met anyone in the category.

7. All my dates had cars. You can't anywhere around here w/o one. There is no mass transit.

8. All my dates lived alone...unless you count children living at home.

9. Only once before my current BF of 6 months and that was for 2.5 months.

!0. Oh yes. Who hasn't done something silly and embarrassing while dating?
