Who's Viewed Me - I don't get it

I go to bed with 208 views on my profile last night. Check this morning and see that I've been viewed 229 times. I look to see who the 21 guys are and there are only 4 new ones. Where are the other 17? How does this really work? I think Match is blowing smoke up my skirt and just throwing a number in there to keep me intrigued. Which isn't working - it's just irritating me....lol.

Not that I think that counter works, I don't because I was viewed 13 times while my profile was hidden.

Does it ever occur to you that you are sort of a mild porn to many anonymous men out there. All you need is a profile to view other profiles. Married men, attached men, introverts, and other hapless sorts love to stay up at night viewing pictures of real women who are single and available. They will look at your profile and for some reason it makes them feel good.

If I were single I could date this lady
If I ever left this house, I would go out with this lady
If I ever lost that last 300 pounds, she'd be my choice
Once I kick this drug habit I am going to contact this lady

Unfortunately, viewing match.com over and over is a free thrill for some.

Hey! Just for giggles, I haven't reset the counter in god knows how long. My profile is still out there, but other than an occasional wink/email or two from losers, I haven't been actively participating. I decided to let it turn over at 10,000 (yes you read that right). Only 125 more hits to go. At which point I will completely DELETE (not hide) my profile and officially call it quits

I believe that as men view you again who have already viewed you, that that count continues to go up. I have no idea otherwise...

What happens if someone who hasn't signed in searched for your profile? Does that increase the counter too?
