Why do the wrong ones call?
| Thu, 01-04-2007 - 8:31pm |
The guy I had coffee with yesterday afternoon (the one who didn't offer to pay for my coffee, kept talking about money, etc.) called me this afternoon while I was at work. And he managed to call when I wasn't alone, so I couldn't easily tell him, "no I don't want to see you again," so I just told him it was a bad time and I'd get back to him. (I'm going to e-mail that I don't think we're a match and hope he doesn't pursue it further.)
I just thought I'd share this because it's the perfect complement to "why won't he call?" that so many of us post here.
It seems that the guys we like don't call often enough while all of us have stories of guys we don't like calling us.

Oh of course they do! That's always the way...grrr!
I would recommend that you email and *block*, so you don't have to deal with any responses. Those guys always seem to argue with you about your decision as well!
Sheri
...Funny! Very true.
I agree with Sheri, email him nicely and then block him.

I've e-mailed him nicely but I can't really block him. He has my "non-Yahoo-personals" e-mail address (one that I reserve for e-mail with "matches") and my cell phone #. So far however (knock wood) he hasn't contacted me.
What is he going to say anyway, "You're wrong, we really did hit it off and we really do have a lot in common"?
What's the email service you use? Almost all email programs have the ability to block. If it's a yahoo email address, you definitely can.
And you'd be surprised how venomous the (seemingly) nicest guys can get if you reject them. And yes, guys WILL argue with you about whether you hit it off or not!
Sheri
Yes, it's yahoo. I only have the account for off-shoots from personals. I didn't realize I could block people on a free service like that. Thanks, I'll go check that out.
But so far he's been pretty quiet. I'm actually more worried that he will phone me (at the wrong moment!) than I am about e-mail because one can always delete unread (if one has the self-control). ;)

Click on "Options", towards the upper right corner of the screen when you're in yahoo mail, and one of the choices is "Block Addresses".
