Well with all the poor hits I've been getting lately, yesterday a guy wrote me on POF. Check out his profile:

"I,m a 38yr.old BLACK AFRICAN-AMERICAN.I weighing in at 245lbs.born in alabama moved to atlanta and, been a georgia man all of my life. My,Occupation is a warehouse dockworker for _________. I,ve been working there for 6yrs.I,like to do all types of things like go to the park for a walk, and go to to ballgames(bsktball, ftball, and bseball).I,also like to treat a woman with respect that she deserves. My,Dislikes is when a woman won,t describe the type of race she prefers in her profile or when she,s chatting on line with a male while talking to me.And,I also don,t like when a woman don,t have any patience for a male counterpart say for example if the man say he,s new as far as typing slowly the female will log off and I think that,s disrespective I don,t like that at all.So, if a woman that is cheking out this profile that don,t have any patience on the real deal move on. Oh,And another thing I forgot to put on the first line I,m 6ft.Tall?And,Im a cancer(My zodiac sign).I also like the woman to know that it doesn,t matter how you look on the outside it,s what,s on the inside that,s all that matter. So,I,m ending my story with this saying If you need me i,m here for you and only you and that,s NO JOKE. My,First date is to take her either to breakfast or to drink coffee and talk.MY,second thing is once we got to know one another we,ll figure what,s happen after that."

Well WTF, I decided to write him and we have been chatting and we have decided to meet when I get back from Spring vacation. Normally, I wouldn't have wrote him because of the typing and wording, but for the most part I get the gist of what he is saying. Our conversations have been nice - no sexual inuendo yet, and seemingly just a brotha who is interested in not being a serial dater nor looking for one. We'll see what happens.

Good luck. Glad you’re overlooking the typos (I know it’s hard) but I’ve had so many PhD’s or

I'm almost wondering if something got screwy with his keyboard because every time he tried to use an apostrophe, it came out as a comma.

Good luck. Based on what he said, he seems like a down-to-earth kinda guy. And who knows he may turn out great. What do you have to lose but a few hours for a date?

Well I had a great Spring Vacation (my son and I rented a cabin in the mountains for a few days) and had my date with the guy on Saturday. All I can say is UGH!!!!! His conversation centered mainly around his ex-wife, which he is only 2 months separated (NOT divorced). I know his typing wasn't the greatest; but he also was not that educated. Sorry, "liked" and "looked" are not 2-syllable words. He works as a dockworker (loading/unloading trucks) and has been w/the company for 6 years. He has no desire to become a supervisor or move within the company -- even though he has been asked. Needless to say, that bit of information about being separated; lack of education/achievement/goals just really turned me off.

Well sticking with my 1-hour rule, and thank goodness for a phone call from my gf (which came 30 mins. into the date) to which I stated that I needed to go cause it was my babysitter; he said he would like to see me again, and I responded with "well, we'll see!" Sorry, I have no interest in seeing him again! NEXT!!!!

Taking a break from OLD since I'm heading to Costa Rica in 2 weeks and possibly when I return I may try speed-dating; something different. Maybe I'll meet a hot surfer guy in Costa Rica. (smile)
