New prospect - we've traded a few emails, and he's suggested we meet tomorrow.

What's stopping me, you ask?

Well, I just got a cold sore. And this sucker is huge.

So when/if I meet him, it's going to go like this:

Hi, "K", I'm "D" and this is my coldsore.

Or, in all reality, the coldsore may take over and do the introductions.

I haven't had one of these things in over 10 years. Figures one pops up now.

What to do?

Good to know about the pharmacist – I always say it’s for my cold soar, LOL. But yeah, agree, who wants to explain on a first, second or third date – they think your diseased or something if they don’t get them – always find that conversation awkward – cuz u can’t kiss them if you have one. Health insurnance covers it, I just pay the 20 dollar co pay.

Have you ever had a cold sore and know how self-conscious you feel with this big scabby thing on your lip? No way would I ever go meet someone for the first time with one.

Please. I've delegated some of my workload to this thing. It's so big I'm sure it's intelligent life. LOL

I feel your pain. I had one last week that was so big it needed it's own address. LOL My BF said, "got a whopper growing there don't ya? I wanted to dig a hole and climb in it.

Gotta laugh! Crying won't make it go away, if it did, I would have been on to something when I was a kid. LOL

Those things are awful! I had one a couple weeks ago and thought it would never disappear. If I had had any dates or meets scheduled I definitely would've postponed. I felt self-conscious enough around my coworkers.

Thanks everyone for posting those remedies. I'll have to make a note, since I get a few a year.

Abreva is pricey, but it DOES work. I don't get them often at all (every few years) and it cuts it down to maybe two days.

If not, I'm make a GOOD excuse. Or just live with it, but yeah, there is the whle first impressions things...
