Okay, I know that you can send icebreakers on Yahoo when you are not a member. Can you read them if you are not a member? Are you able to read emails sent to you if you are not a member? I am just wondering if I should join or just take advantage of their 7-day trial.

Yeah, if that's the case, we're not a good fit. I just wish there was a way of telling whether someone is a subscriber but is only sending you an icebreaker in response to yours. I've already *shown* my interest, what's to be shy or scared about?
Too funny about the youngsters!
Good luck with the job hunt...hopefully you'll have luck with that AND the man hunt ;-).

What ever happened to all the free sites. LOL
I remember when I first did online dating everything was free...then they thought, WOW this is a HUGE market....LOL
It's always been the case with me, that when a guy sends an "ice-breaker" that he is NOT a paying member. When I first joined, that was my biggest complaint with Yahoo. It was not until my gf told me that he probably is not paying so he can only send an ice breaker. So when I was a paying member, anyone I ever wrote to, I would include my email address. Also, I responded to guys who sent me an ice breaker with an email message and email address. Most guys were pleased that I sent my email address.
If you sent an ice breaker and he responds with an ice breaker -- well then send an email and include your email address. If you are not a paying member, then you can only send 1-2 ice breakers.
Also, my gf has been able to locate the guy's email by finding him in the member directory. She has done this on two occassions. Apparently it works easier, if they are currently online -- or they can IM you if you are online and they notice you.
I guess if there's a will, there's a way! (smile)
That's what I am doing now that I've subscribed (sending emails that include my email address to those who've responded to my icebreaker with an icebreaker), but if it turns out that they *could* have sent me an email but sent me an icebreaker instead, then that would be a turn-off.
Thanks,
Sheri
