Yet another good reason to meet sooner rather than later. Isn't it a shame, though...you seemed to have things in common and then no physical attraction. But I don't think it's shallow at all.

And there's just no excuse for having yellow teeth and dandruff these days.

I'm going on a first date with a guy tonight. He didn't have a full-body photo posted (just a head shot) and when I met him, he has quite a girth around the middle. I saw him from a distance walking into the wine bar, but then didn't really get a good look after that--he was sitting down the whole time. Anyway, I liked him well enough and decided to give it another go. But I have to be honest: I will probably not be able to get past it. But like you, I really want to give someone the benefit of the doubt. Sometimes I feel like I'm too picky with the physical stuff but yet...if you're not attracted you just aren't.

Well, my hunch was correct:

Double-eeewww about the jacuzzi!

See, this is what is to me, the hardest thing about OLD, which isn't true about meeting someone IRL: you go through this rigamarole and set up a meeting and then, it's usually all decided within 3 minutes. There's just no way to gauge chemistry until you meet. And I just absolutely HATE having to tell someone "thanks but no thanks." I would almost rather be the one "rejected." Obviously, if you meet IRL, you can size them up "chemistry-wise" and then get to know them.

However, I just don't meet enough men in my real life (whatever that is) so I'll keep plugging away at OLD.

That's also why I like to meet sooner than later.

I wouldn't care that the pictures are old, though. I think I've said here before that my boyfriend didn't have a picture posted, so it's not really a big deal to me. But I don't let myself get attached to guys I haven't met.

I dunno. I'd argue that he wasn't being deceptive since they were clearly date-stamped. Then again, I tend to analyze photos for stuff like that.

Maybe the question is why are they posting photos that old, even if they are date stamped? Are they saying, "well this is basically what I look like, but not exactly"? Are they too lazy to take even a single current photo?

Playing devil's advocate here -

I have very few current pictures of me - make that very few pictures at all - because I'm always the one with the camera.

And frankly, I'd rather have no picture up of a potential boyfriend than a current one of him in his bathroom mirror, or in his car with a cell phone.
