My sister and I are going to dinner. She is without the hub and I think it'll be amusing to see the looks we get going out on a couple's day. She's six months pregnant, so people will be looking anyway. :-)

Yeah I hate my job. Its fun at times because I get to meet a lot of tourists and its low stress but the boss is a huge drama queen. We've all been getting along now for about 2 months and now she's creating all kinds of problems again and blaming us. She creates stress and drama and I just can't handle that crap. Been there done that, too old and cynical to deal with it! Its really sad when your 20 year old asst manager and 24 year old worker act older and more mature than you as a 35 year old!

Plus I really need to get this knee healed. Doc says no tears and just to keep taking the meds and icing it. But I really want it to get strong again. She's just not sensitive at all to the fact that I can't get on the ladder, I can't work as fast as I normally do and she won't let me sit down when I need to sit down. I don't ask for pity; I ask for understanding that I'm not at 100% and that I'm not enjoying it by any means.

Plus...haaa...we're starting the practicum search/interview process right now and I just know that if I ask for more time off she'll flip her lid. She's jealous that two of us are getting an education and she's 35 years old with nothing to speak of (hey, I didn't make your choices, sorry!). I've already asked for time off when R comes on Friday (hey, I only get to see him once every few months, I'm going to take a bit of time off!) and I want to go home in March to see family...and since this is a VERY part time, meaningless job to me. School comes first; I need to get the heck out of here as soon as possible so I can get a real job!! So I feel like some of it is being put to the backseat lately and I can't have it like that. I go to school 3 days a week and work on the other two weekdays and weekends...so that doesnt leave me much room for these interviews I'm getting. So I'm just going to avoid the whole mess and get out of her drama while I can.

So I'm going to live on student loans for awhile (yuck...I REALLY hate that idea but I don't have a choice either way) and get through this practicum stuff before I find another part time job.

Well good luck!

And yes, I know, student loans can be a necessary evil sometimes.

I treated myself to an almond latte and blueberry muffin this morning. YUM. Got a nice little smile when the 18-year-old guy behind the counter called me sweetie. (Aww).

For the rest of the day, I will do my best to ignore the flower deliveries to all the women in the office. (There are literally only 3-4 guys here and 50 women).

Tomorrow, I will buy myself some half-price flowers and/or chocolate. :)

Ruby - good luck and enjoy your new-found freedom from the work stress!

I don't have any plans as yet, but I'm on vacation from work this week and loving it.

I'll be working tonight on a presentation for work tomorrow, but I have no one to blame but myself for procrastinating.

I'm with the person who said they'll be buying half-price chocolates and flowers tommorow.

Our company president (a sweet 70-year-old man) just came around and gave all the ladies in the office a rose and a small box of chocolates. :) Made my day.
