Annoying E-Harmony Commercials

Is it me or are these annoying commercials playing at every commercial break lately?

But what annoys me most is they make it seem like all you have to do is fill out their profile and wait for love to happen. You see the happy couples, kissing, canoodling and acting like everything was just there and instant the moments their profiles matched them.

I don't know anyone who has had any success with E-Harmony and it costs way too much. Plus the fact that I don't care if you have everything in common going all the way down the page, if there isn't a mutual attraction or connection, it's not going to work. And that makes it no different from any of dating site.

I just feel like they are mocking single people after awhile. I don't believe it is that simple.

It isn't that simple.

They are selling a product. It's just like those weight loss commercials that say "results not typical" in tiny print at the bottom. The canoodling couples should have the same disclaimer.

Online dating is just like dating through any other avenue -- it takes trial and error, a little luck and, as you said, the right connection. The good news is that most people eventually do get married - so statistics are on your side. It just takes some of us longer than others.

AJ, enjoying life with C.

They are pretty D-U-M dumb. I tried that sight and was paired up with the most awful matches. I had better luck with match.com where I did get to pick what I want according to my criteria. Maybe Dr. Know It All Wrinkly Jowls is not better than I am at picking my matches.

It's definitely not that simple. The commercial is there just to sell, nothing more. Dating is dating no matter which method you choose. I have a very hard time believing a survey would know who's better for me than I know. And really, if you're not able to say what you want in a person, maybe it's not a good time to date at all.

I wasted 1.5 hours of my life completing the personality profile. After I finished, it told me that I was part of the 20% of people who didn't have a match! If they had told me that before I wasted my precious time, I wouldn't have bothered!

Beware!

They actually tell you there's no match for you? Do they at least tell you to try back later? There's something wrong with that.
I feel like it would be the same random feeling as when you look under the cap of your coke bottle and it says "Please Play Again"- I never win those, either.

I love that!! Just the idea of someone making a commercial...I can so see it on MadTv or SNL... I don't usually have the energy left to stay up that late anymore, maybe they have already done it.... if not, they should! It would really be great, though, if the actual commercial had the disclaimer.
